Pool right outside door. Nice roomy unit. Great decor. Washer and dryer in unit a big plus. Close to the beach with bike paths. Pool and grounds well maintained. Convenient to small town with many restaurants. Altogether convenient! Our hosts and property manager were most communicative and helpful!

Blue Marlin 5: A great home away from home
We had an excellent stay at this condo. It is as pictured and we found it to have pretty much everything we needed. The beach is indeed close by and we also really enjoyed having use of the swimming pool (which is cared for daily).
The only negative experience we had here was with the property manager, Joanne. She offered to take us to town for groceries on our second day. After stopping to run some of her own errands, she dropped us at the grocery store and told us she would be having breakfast at the Subway Subs restaurant next door. My husband is newly diagnosed with diabetes so we were carefully reading labels and didn't realize a half an hour had passed. At this point, Joanne found us in the store and said in a huff that she had to leave for an appointment. We immediately went to the cash register to pay. Upon exiting the store, we found she had abandoned us. Had she given us prior warning that she was in a rush, we would have been more mindful of the time. We ended up walking and eventually found a taxi which took us home for a few dollars. We relied on ourselves after this and walked to and from town via the beach most days. If a taxi was needed, we found the red cabs to be safe, cheap and reliable. We also rented a car for 3 days to travel to Tamarindo, Arenal and Monteverde.
Other than the grocery trip experience, we greatly enjoyed our time and found Playas del Coco, the locals and Costa Rica to all be wonderful.
Word to the wise: Joanne will offer to drive you to and from the airport in Liberia for $50, but we discovered a cab was cheaper. We left the cards for two drivers in the condo for future visitors.
Joanne, our property manager keeps a extremely busy schedule during high season. This is one of many properties she manages. All I say in her defense, when you are on somebody else s watch it matters. As mentioned, they lost track of time. I am really sorry about the misunderstanding between property mgr and client, but things happen! I am glad they enjoyed our property and location. Glenn and Cheryl
I must say arriving at 12.30 AM along with no addresses on any properties made for a very frustrating evening. We were unable to locate anyone that could help us and several tried which forced us to rent another room at a Hotel that was but 3 blocks from the Blue Marlin. Suggestion include a map of the area. Even without street names there are so few streets it would be a very simple way to locate the Blue Marlin. Once on the correct street the sign in the yard and the BLUE building color would be easy to locate even in the dark of night. The added cost of $85.00 left us with a very bad taste for VRBO. This all could be prevented by arriving during daylight hours on our part. How ever not possible for this trip. Another way this could be prevented is to share more contact information, the phone number and or email address of Joanne the property manager whom after we were able to connect was most helpful. The rental unit was ok but I must add more care in extermination of bugs is needed the spray under the sink came in handy. Some of this has come to be expected by my wife and myself as we have traveled in many areas of south america. The property was quiet, the neighbors friendly, the food was good all in all we had a good time and will be back in Playas Del Coco in the future.
Lack Of Travelers Planning
All contact information is in the hospitality tab on VRBO. Here you have access to Joanne, our property mangers email and phone number. Please email her prior to travel your airline information on your ETA. When arriving at the airport whether or not your flight was delayed you can call her from the car rental agency. Then you can set up a place to meet her in downtown coco, if you don't know how to get to the property on your own. Traveling in Costa Rica is different because there are no street address like other parts of the world. Arriving at 1230 am is ridiculous, especially if Joanne does not know your ETA, she can not be expected to wait all day and stay up all night with the keys at the condo. Poor, Inexperience travel does not constitute a crisis on our part after hours. Glenn
exceeded my expectations
I enjoyed a very relaxing, and quiet stay at this residence.Booking on VBRO was EZ, and upon arrival , i waited for what seemed like a while before Joanne came by with the keys, but i was pleased to see the condo was clean and felt "homey". I was pleased to see an HDMI cable available, since i had forgotten to bring one along.Booked several day trips out deep sea fishing during my stay found several places to book in downtown Coco fairly EZ. All and all i have to recommend, pretty much everything went smooth on my vacation, for once.Be nice to return sometime.
We certainly work hard at making a enjoyable stay for our clients. I am glad he enjoyed his stay and thank you VRBO. Glenn and Cheryl
water sports and recreation gateway surrounded by palm-lined beaches and rocky bays, Playas del Coco is under an hour in driving time from Liberia, Costa Rica’s Daniel Oduber Quiros International Aiport (LIR). Relax on white sand beaches, or stroll the black sand beach beneath the cliffs at Playa Ocotal. Dive, snorkel, swim, surf, fish, bird-watch, kayak, sail, jet ski, hike, bike, golf, and horseback ride or just relax.
Playas del Coco has many sunset cruises, rainforest canopy and zip-line tours, mud baths, hot springs, and day tours to sea turtle nesting areas and inland volcanoes. Take the whole family on a shopping trip to Liberia, with a break to picnic, sunbathe, and swim at Llanos de Cortez Waterfall. For some excitement, punctuate a leisurely Coribici River rafting trip with a few class II rapids. Tee off along the Pacific Ocean for 18 holes at Playa Conchal’s Garra de Leon golf course, enjoying the mountains, parakeets, and howler monkeys.
Boat tours are a nice way to survey the mountainous coast line, with its many beaches and mangrove estuaries. Be on the lookout for humpback whales and dolphins as you sail. Swim, snorkel, relax in the sun, and explore the many beaches to the south of Playas del Coco. Explore the rocky coves around Playa Penca, Playa Preita, and Playa Pan de Azucar (Sugar Beach). Admire the long white sand beach and boats docked at Playa Flamingo. Enjoy a seafood meal and admire the fishing fleet in the crescent-shaped bay around Playa Potrero.
All Experienced scuba divers will appreciate viewing the entire food chain from plankton to manta rays and reef sharks. The Bats Islands and Catalinas Islands, 15-20 miles offshore, are renowned for their giant manta rays, cownose rays, eagle rays, and bull sharks. Closer to shore, there are many snorkeling and diving spots where you can potentially see reef sharks, seahorses, octopuses, turtles, and a kaleidoscopic array of puffers, parrotfish, and other coral reef fish.
