I want to come back, we stayed 11 nights. Is a quiet place, nice, just nice.
Nice Location and Beach
Overall we rank our stay as average. The beach/location was very nice. As for the condo, there were a few things that surprised us when we arrived. First off, there is a very bad sewage smell in the parking lot (but, you dont smell it in the condo). Secondly, there is no A/C. When booking the property is states AC and I didnt make the extra effort to make sure of it (owner stated it was broken and being repaired). It was pretty warm even with the fans provided by the owner. Also, the Wifi information on the instructions was not updated. Wifi worked but different password and name of Wifi. TV was difficult to figure out, but after fiddling with it, we got the cable to work. Overall our experience was OK, but the A/C and smell in parking lot was a distractor.

Henrik will Disappoint You
Reserved the place 1 month in advance, and we were happy to book a condo in the North Shore during the busy season. Henrik was cordial on the phone, although slow in returning emails, which he blamed on VRBO technical issues. We arrived at the rental at 5 PM and had to sprint across the parking lot because of the nasty sewage smell. Once inside, we found dirty towels on the floor, crumbs on the table, etc. Called Henrik immediately and he said the maid probably hadn't shown. He was apologetic and said he'd drive up from Honolulu right away and clean the condo. Funny thing - we found his wallet on the kitchen counter. Maybe he'd been there and didn't have a maid after all? After some sightseeing, we came back at 7:30 to a DIRTY CONDO. Henrick's excuse? The south part of the island was undergoing severe flooding, and he couldn't drive up, though the WALLET WAS GONE! We left $50 of groceries in the cabinets we had just purchased and drove to a nearby hotel, which he paid for. Additionally, he told us he'd reimburse us for dinner the next evening. Henrik's place was clean the next day, but we soon found out the TV, Internet, and air conditioners didn't work. Additionally, our groceries were gone! I texted him many times, but no response - the first of many communication breakdowns. That night we prepared to go to dinner, but I couldn't confirm he'd pick up the tab. We went out anyway, and I sent him a picture of the bill. I also made it clear that we wanted our grocery money. The next morning, I sent him another text and said it would be great to have some coffee (part of the grocery cache that had gone missing). He called a few minutes later and gave me a story about his health, which had caused him to pass out the night before. I proceeded to tell him about the defunct tv and Internet signal. He said He'd look into it, but it was never fixed. He also said the maid had cleared out the unopened groceries, and he'd reimburse us. Strangely, coffee and water were left at our door when we came back that evening. Unfortunately, when we departed the last day, I forgot to return the key and texted him about it. After not hearing from him for 3 more days, I tried again. He texted right back, and spewed, in part, "I was as dumb as a box of rocks and could not even read a rental agreement." He said he'd filed a claim against us for the key and the condition we'd left the condo in, though we left it just about spotless. Your business to lose bro!
We are beyond disappointed. We stayed at this property for four nights while on holiday from NZ. We arrived and Henrik was there cleaning the apartment. There was a strong sewerage smell outside when we arrived and it needs attention. We had no air conditioning, the bedroom fan wasn’t working, the tv didn’t work (but Henrik did come the next day and dropped off a few new fans and got tv and internet working). We used the washing machine and then discovered the drier didn’t work. Henrik said he would try to fix it but it was beyond repair. So we had wet washing all around us for the next couple of days. Whilst Henrik was trying to fix the fans, wash machine and wifi he left his wallet behind. He apologised for all the faults and offered us 25% discount on our accommodation. We have never seen this money despite sending him numerous emails. We left on 26 June and I have just read the review of someone who reviewed it on 1 July so presumably no one had cleaned the place in the interim - as we had left his wallet in the fruit bowl where the next guests found it!!
On the up side it was close to lots of neat things in North shore and when swimming out the front of the apartment we did swim with turtles which was AMAZING!!
I would not recommend this accommodation to ANYONE. We are a very easy going family and were happy to make do with the short comings especially given the discount he offered. To have never heard from Henrik after we left was extremely disappointing- especially as we had been honest enough to notify him that his wallet was there and leave it untouched. My husband even offered to spend part of his holiday helping Henrik put up the fan.
There was also an extra charge to use the AC of $Us20/ day we discovered when we arrived!!
Thankfully the rest of our holiday in Hawaii was fabulous and our Waikiki accom had been great.
The location was great.
The condo fell a little short of our expectations. The price was good and it accommodated our family of 5 with the blow up mattress. The blinds were broken in the bedroom and the ceiling fan was missing just wires hanging down. Baseboards were falling off or missing. Last renters "Summer's Eve" was in the shower. There was so much potential but just kind of fell short of our expectations. Overall, it was just okay, I have stayed in much better condos.
The North Shore is the Peaceful Side of Oahu - far away from the crowds at Waikiki.
