Charming enough for two, spacious enough for fourteen

We came to Boulder after searching far and wide for the right place for us. After our third and fourth children were born we moved just up the road but we maintain a close relationship to the property through our sheep and alpacas who still live there.
Jennifer purchased this House in 2003
Why Jennifer chose Sunshine Canyon
We love this house for its location. At once we feel peaceful and in nature, but if we forget something at the store we are close enough to run back to it. All the benefits that go with being in a university town have kept us here.
What makes this House unique
The house won us because it is really solid. All the wood and light really set it apart from all the others we looked at and the south-facing exposure with all the views made us feel on top of the world.

We enjoyed the beautiful views from the house and area while we attended a family wedding. Unique home in great location.
Wonderful scenery, spacious home
Amazing House, Amazing Location
I would highly recommend staying here. The house was super cool and interesting, the views were beautiful. Although it has a super remote feel, it is only a 15 minute ride to down town Boulder.
Beautiful Views and Gathering Spot
The Sunshine Canyon house was a great spot to go with a group. The view of Bald Mountain from the dining table was lovely--as were the deer that came to dine in the yard at dusk. Each morning we would get up early and walk across the road to walk the short circuit of the mountain. This trek provides a wonderful view for seeing the sunrise and taking in the peaks of the Rocky Mountains. As noted in previous reviews the layout of the house is unique, with one sleeping area being in a hallway. Also, given the hot weather during our stay, the house did not cool down in the evening as we had hoped, despite turning on the whole house fan. We, however, found that these were minor factors in the overall enjoyment of our stay. We would definitely recommend this house to those looking for a laidback place to explore the area.
Such a nice and clean home. Very accommodating and helpful. Have a binder filled with info to help guests
Weekend in Boulder
Loved the natural feel of the home and found it very fitting to the surrounding setting. Incredible views, great hikes nearby. Had a great time!
The weather is one of the greatest things about being in the front range, so don't forget your walking shoes! You will be right across the street from Bald Mountain Scenic area and just a short walk from its spectacular views at the top! Just seven minutes down the road are more fabulous trails.
Historic Pearl street is just at the foot of the hill, a fun and colorful 'walking mall' where street performers abound.
For a more serene mountain experience try Brainard Lake where Elk and Moose live and snow can be seen in the middle of the summer. Great for all levels of hiking, it is also a hot spot for fly fishing.
You can access Rocky Mountain National Park by taking the award-winning Peak-to-Peak highway only thirty minutes up the road. It also takes you over to the mountain town of Nederland and the slopes and cross-country trails of Eldora Ski Resort.
Back in town don't miss the Colorado Shakespeare Festival which runs in the summer, or concerts at Chautauqua.
It is said that there are more restaurants in Boulder per capita than in New York City. True or not there are certainly an incredible amount of good restaurants!
Just at the bottom of the hill, the Boulder Recreation Center offers fitness and swimming, tennis and drop-in classes.
The Butterfly Pavilion in Broomfield and the Denver Aquarium offer great indoor activities in the unusual event of a cloudy day.
Whether your interests are recreational, culinary, cultural, or outdoors, you will have it all nearby your comfortable vacation home.
