3.5 BR/ 2.5 BA Sleeps 7 plus
My Name is Cassandra. I have lived in the Berkshires for nearly 25 years, but have travelled extensively. I am the owner of Cassandraevents a floral design studio specializing in Wedding designs and destination weddings. I also teach water fitness, love to hike, mushroom hunt, and the outdoors.
Why Cassandra chose West Stockbridge
The house is located in an ideal spot to have privacy but not be isolated. It is a quick jump off from the Mass pike and easily accessible to exploring the Berkshires and neighboring Columbia and Duchess County in New York state. I would be foolish not to mention what a wonderful village West Stockbridge is. There are some great restaurants and coffee shops, a fun Thursday Farmer Market, and a well stocked Public Market and Wine Store. If you visiting Tangelwood during the summer, Lenox Mt Road allows you to slip in ad out with minimum traffic. There are so many wonderful hikes within five minute drive or just strolling the country roads from the house is always pleasant. The private Quarry is the spot for a summer dip, where you will most luckily have it all to yourselves.
What makes this House unique
The house offers large spaces with high ceiling and wonderful lighting. There is a very large deck that overlooks a large private back yard and view of the woods.

Fabulous house for our family gathering!
Cassandra allowed us to check in early (thank you) and when we walked in, our first words were WOW! Larger than I thought. The living room with lovely high ceilings, white lights on large tree branches, beautifully decorated, the working fireplace, (wood provided and even more in the shed nearby) bright light from the many windows even on a rainy day, but cozy and warm all the same, made us all excited to see more. We were not disappointed. Walking into the kitchen we saw light streaming in around the window seats-and the large kitchen table that served as a place where we later all had a great time eating and just hanging out. There was a jug of spring water which we appreciated and a lot of food amenities.
There were nooks and hideways-the futon in front of a bunch of windows was a place where I enjoyed sitting and reading. We had 6 adults and a well-behaved toddler, but it was baby friendly-Charlie had room to pad around. He was excited to find sweet little curtained off room under the staircase he could play in-some toys were there too. There was an unusual bedroom upstairs with and long row of windows on each side of the bed-like sleeping among treetops.
One thing I personally don't like is fake plants and every plant in the house was real. The most beautiful was the large healthy fern in the bathroom at the foot of the tub.
This house was a place where my family, some of who live as far away as California, were able to be together, play games, drink, eat laugh and make memories that will be with us always.
I can not tell you how happy your review made me. I love the house and for a family or group of friends to enjoy it as you did is exactly what I want.
Thank you so much for sharing your great experience and please plan to come again.
Great property, very roomy. Spent hours on the deck with friends.
Great house for large group. Well stocked kitchen. Comfy beds. Close to Tanglewood. Private. Really enjoyed our 3 days there.
To find the Heart of the Berkshires, this is a great location
Location, location, location. This house is very conveniently located near west Stockbridge, allowing quick access to Tanglewood (away from the big traffic mess that heads into Lenox), as well as Interstate 90 (which for us means getting to Jacob's Pillow) and roads in every direction, south to Great Barrington, north to Pittsfield (for theatre, public beach and dining) and beyond to North Adams (MassMoCa).
The house is very private and very large. There is no air-conditioning but plenty of fans. The late afternoon sun does stream in and, though I understand this summer was warmer than usual, it was hot inside well into the evening.
The WiFi is great. There are no TVs. The house is clean and well outfitted, and there are plenty of bathrooms and sleeping quarters.
Great location, wonderful setting
Nice house with two spacious and comfortable common areas (eat-in kitchen and living room) and a great deck and yard with mature perennials in a central location with easy access to all that I like to see when visiting the Berkshires (3-5 miles to Tanglewood and Lenox, Stockbridge and Great Barrington are also short drives away). The house nicely accommodated my party of six unrelated women (did have to share bedrooms), kitchen was suitably equipped for preparing simple meals at the house.
We enjoyed being able to relax at the house (inside and out), go for walks with our dog, and get a run in. We heard about a quarry nearby, but had not taken our bathing suits so did not check that out.
The host/owner was very helpful in accommodating our party and some special requests, and recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities. The only minor complaints were that the twin beds were a bit squeaky when turning in the night (but comfortable), and the upstairs shower was a bit tricky to find the hot water (but there was plenty of hot water and water pressure for all of our showers!).
All six of us felt we would gladly come back to this house for another getaway in the Berkshires, which says it all!
Beautiful house! Much larger and better appointed even than in the photos.
The House was amazing, a great place to stay with friends - and very well situated and appointed. It was extremely close to Lenox, Stockbridge, and Great Barrington. The House was very comfortable and the great room was just awesome. The host is also wonderful - they did everything to make our stay comfortable - couldn’t have been happier.
Great family ski retreat
We really enjoyed our stay at the house in West Stockbridge, starting with the delicious apple cider donuts that the owner graciously provided to welcome us for our stay. The home is conveniently located from ski resorts and quaint towns (15 minutes from Bousquets and historic Lenox). It was comfortable and perfectly fit the needs of two families with children. Our favorite was hanging by the fireplace and playing games in the evening.
The Berkshires is a world unto itself. It is scenic beauty married to cultural bounty. It is urban sophistication in an idyllic, rural setting. It is a destination, a haven, a state of mind, and a way of life. Whether it's glorious countryside that interests you or the Berkshires' famous culture... A Berkshire home in West Stockbridge is waiting for you.
