This spacious bungalow is set in approximately half an acre of woodland garden overlooking Wootton Creek and benefits from its own private 80 metre floating pontoon allowing access to The Solent 2 hours either side of high water depending on the boat's draught. The pontoon has mooring facilities and its own electricity and water supply for those guests who wish to bring their boats.

The accommodation comprises a large modern oak fitted kitchen/diner with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob and convection microwave with dining for 8; its spacious lounge comfortably seats eight adults. Guests can watch red squirrels, numerous wading birds and wonderful sunsets from the comfort of an armchair, in addition to the world going by on the water. There is car parking for several cars and the property is within walking distance of the local Yacht Club, pub and some lovely walks and cycling routes, making it an ideal base for outdoor acitivities. It is also within a 10 minute slow walk through woodland to the nearest bus stop.

The property is less than 5 minutes from the Portsmouth/Isle of Wight car ferry with a frontage that is within a stones throw of Wootton Creek. From the slipway children and adults can practice a number of water activities in relative safety Crab and line fishing can be done from the pontoon. Ryde is the closest seaside town with its long wide sandy beaches and is less than ten minutes drive away. For those looking for historical places to visit Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House are only 15 minutes drive away Cowes the haven for yachts and world renowned yacht and power boat races is 25 minutes drive, in fact, nowhere is very far on an island that offers a very diverse landscape, history of our royalty and the revived home of now two pop festivals; in fact, many people call it 'Little England'. For those who want to combine activity with playing bridge, there are also several friendly bridge clubs within a short driving distances that welcome visitors.

We had a family reunion to celebrate my grandson's 3rd birthday at Byewater. We very much enjoyed our holiday particularly the crabbing; it was also wonderful to see so many red squirrels and we were made to feel very welcome, not to mention the lovely scones and cream tea we had on arrival.

Wonderful property for family and friends

All our family and friends enjoyed staying at Byewater. Although the weather was unpredictable we shared many restful days at this amazing property. Everything was provided to make our stay stress free, from welcoming pack to toiletries in every bathroom. No traffic noise, just watching boats pass by and red squirrels feeding in nearby trees. a wonderful family holiday home

We were a party of 6 adults, 1 child and 1 baby. Upon arrival a wonderful English tea tray was set out with scones and clotted cream and we received a very warm welcoming from Toni. The home had a superb kitchen which was great for entertaining the family. The bedrooms were equipped beautifully and warm and cosy. The bathrooms were very clean and worked perfectly for our family. The views of the River and creek were a joy to just sit and relax on the outer balcony in the garden furniture supplied or when it cooled down from the large windows in the lounge. The children loved watching the Red squirrels who would come right outside the windows. Overall a great family home, wonderful gardens and views. Well done to the owners for making our stay extremely enjoyable. We had a fabulous time

Great house on the estuary

Thank you for a lovely stay at Byewater

The tea and cakes on arrival were much appreciated! The accommodation is excellent, especially the enormous lounge with panoramic views of the estuary which attracts lots of bird life we also enjoyed watching the red squirrels in the garden.

Everybody had their own bathroom so there was no queuing in the morning and we thought this truly is a first class place to stay particularly if you are self catering as the kitchen is well off for kitchen equipment.

The Fishbourne Arms, a five minute walk away, does really good food if you don't fancy cooking, and there is lots to do on the island so we will definitely go back.

Wonderful

The house is an a lovely, very peaceful location overlooking the creek, lovely to sit and watch the activities on the water and see the red squirrels. The house is very well appointed, spotlessly clean and has the owners really do provide all the extra essentials needed for a self catering holiday. I would strongly recommend a stay here, the photos on here are good but the real thing is better.

Beautiful property & location

Byewater is a beautiful property set in a wonderful location. The house is very well equipped and was perfect for our party of 8 people. We were welcomed on our arrival with homemade scones, jam & cream and a delicious cake. The creek was delightful and our 'children' who range in age from 24 to 11 loved crabbing from the pontoon!! Had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and even the occasional wet weather didn't spoil it.

Wonderful family holiday. Five star holiday home

The holiday home was in a lovely setting and very well equipped . It was spotlessly clean and we had home made scones jam and cream and fresh flowers waiting for us . It was my baby grandsons first holiday and we all had a great time.
