It was not the most modern room, but the location was good, staff were very nice, and helpful.
Good facilities and close to the beach
Last minute booking and then read some reviews...... Ignore them!
We arrived at the same time as a large group of Japanese visitors. The reception staff were a little sharp, but seemed to a little more friendly when the group moved away and the noise level lessened.
Room was very clean, bedlinen was fresh. The room could do with a lick of paint, but it is October!
Food was lovely, huge selection of everything. I saw a comment about there being oil on some of the dishes but, if you eat out in Spain, food does have oil on it.
Waiting and bar staff are so friendly.
Worth getting beach towels as you get fresh ones every day!
Beach so handy, little pool so August holiday would be very busy.
Nice little town that had a selection of shops, bars and restaurants if you need a change.
Buses regularly go into Fuengirola and Marbella. Easy train ride to/from Airport to Fuengirola and local bus. Total transfer cost is €4.25!
There was a very grumpy male older gentleman in reception, who we tried to avoid as he never smiled, everyone else was fantastic, perhaps frontline work is not for him!
Not as expected
This is not a 4-Star hotel as compared to the United States, it’s more of a cattle call type of environment.
The rooms are old and are in much need of an update, the beds were VERY uncomfortable.
If you do stay take your own bar soap, they only offer shampoo that is be used for all bodily cleaning.
The shower head was filthy, I had to clean it myself.

Under the beds were dirty. They did not provide hand soap only shampoo. The room floor was never cleaned in the bathroom. We stayed three nights. The breakfasts was good; on the wall was a bag that looked like a roch. Shower head had mold.
On the third day we had reserved a guided tour and they booked our breakfasts for 6 am. The chef was not happy that we were eating in her dinning room that early. On the last date we say her use her hands to pick up the pantries, which we are sure are served the next day.
The location of this place is great, if you want to spend your time at the beach.

This hotel is in need of some modernisation or at least some money spent on it. The rooms are clean, functional and good sized. The pool area is okay and right on the boardwalk. The main town of La Cala de Mijas is only about ten minutes walk from the hotel making it an well located place to stay.
On the down side the quality of the restaurant and the food is beyond words. We were half board and I tried an evening meal on my first night and can only say it was very poor. We tried breakfast the next morning and that too poor. The fresh fruit was great but that is about all. Silly things like the salt pot lid being covered in rust to the point the salt inside was stained brown is just so unacceptable and unnecessary. It really cannot be difficult to provide simple food well. Offer less, better!!!! Or just don't offer it!
Great place to stay but just do not eat there and why would you when there are so many wonderful cafes and restaurants all around the town.

Good Hotel close to beach
Staff member in restaurant very rude, accosted us with payment whilst seated ready to eat, food cold and hard rubbery, was told by the concierge to drink tea from glass provided for tooth brush in our room, whilst asking for cup for my mother for her tablets to be taken. Hotel caters for all nationalities so they should be able to speak fluent english. I contacted this hotel a week before flying out by email, I still have not received a response. They do not have porters, my brother was at the sane hotel who provided myself & my mum with this service upon leaving as well as arriving.
