Perfect for our 2 month stay.

This rental felt like home as soon as we arrived. Comfortable furnishings and everything we needed (I wasn't sure how only one bathroom would work, but it worked okay for my husband and I). We enjoyed the sunroom and the hot tub on the deck. The storage shed was great for keeping our bikes. The location of the rental was perfect for us. We used the bike trail almost every day. We could see the ocean just walking around the corner. There was also a nice walking path near the house down to the Mad River. Stores and gas stations were a few minutes drive away. We were close to Arcata and visited the wonderful Farmers Market, the Community Forest, HSU, the Marsh, toured Holly Yashi and the glass factory. Eureka was close too, we did the harbor cruise and loved the Sequoia Zoo. Trinidad was wonderful, probably my favorite beach and we visited many. We were able to do so many things in the area because the house was so convenient to Highway 101. I would recommend this rental, in fact we hope to stay again this winter.

Just right

This was the perfect house in the perfect location while we were working in the redwoods in parks just north of McKinleyville. Hosts were very accommodating of our last minute booking request, and of the two search dogs who are our co-workers.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us and we were glad we could get you in. We know you and your dogs work hard for conserving important species and habitats so we are happy you all had a nice place to come home to in the evenings after hard days in the field and relax. Keep up the great work you do!

business trip

This house was great, very clean. There is plenty of space in the kitchen and stocked with everything needed to cook. The couch was comfortable for relaxing. The beds were very good. So nice after work to just walk out the door for a short walk to the beautiful trail to the beach. Nice neighborhood.

Great Get Away Home

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed staying here. The house is super clean, roomy and comfortable. Loved the completely stocked kitchen, not that I needed a lot, but what ever you're looking for, it is most likely in this house. We took many side trips exploring the redwoods, beaches and parks, as well as visiting family. My teenagers really enjoyed some time off just lounging on the big leather couch. The path along the river is very pleasant, but if there is access to the beach from here, we could not find it. Clam beach however is very nice and only a short freeway drive. Thank you for making your house available to us. We hope to come back again in a couple years.

We stayed in Sinti by the Sea over the July 4th holiday. Loved the place. Very comfortable large leather couch, big screen TV, soft mattresses, clean well-stocked kitchen. There is a very nice trail close to the house that goes the beach or through a beautiful riparian area. The house is in a very nice residential neighborhood close to Arcata, where we found restaurants and shopping. Enjoyed a wonderful hike in the Redwoods and a colorful street fair in Arcata on the 4th. We will be back!

A Wonderful Weekend

  • 4 of 5

This is a wonderful two bedroom cottage perfect for couples. My girlfriend and I came up to visit another couple we've known for years and this was the ideal place to catch up, play some of the many board games, and enjoy a relaxing weekend. Additionally, We love to cook and we've visited many vacation rentals over the years, this cottage has one of the best stocked kitchens we've seen. There are all the pots, pans, and utensils you need to prepare a wonderful meal. The owners Jan and Lisa made this a wonderful first experience with VRBO!
