About Michael k lovejoy or Patricia Lloyd
We live in upstate NY but fell in love with Maine's people and beauty. We have to keep working for quite a few more years (hoping to win the lottery)- so we rent year round. We take pride in our property and are responsive to any of our renters needs. We ask that you leave our home in the clean condition that you found it in, so all tenants can enjoy. Our property is fully furnished and has all the amenities of home!

Why Michael k lovejoy or Patricia Lloyd chose Saco
It's close to everything! It has ocean access from the river.
What makes this Cottage unique
Tie your boat up to the dock, load your gear and head out for some fishing. Saco River has some great Striper fishing. Other things to catch are squid, Pollock, mackerel, eels, and blue fin tuna. Sea Duck hunting in the fall/early winter. Our try for some puddle ducks on the river.

Loved the cottage and area. Had a fantastic weekend (despite breaking my arm two days before trip!) Great people to deal with. Super cute location!
The listing was accurate and the property was perfect for us. We had a very restful and enjoyable stay. Thanks!
Cottage on Saco River
This is our second stay at the Little Cottages, and our first during the Summer. We rented this sweet cottage for Thanksgiving weekend last year; the location is perfect for us since it's near my in-laws in Saco and my brother-in-law in South Portland. We are seasoned Maine renters (25+ years) and we visit at least three times a year. Michael was so gracious with our late decision to rent the week of 9/7-9/14. We actually arrived on 9/6 (our 32nd wedding anniversary) and since the cottage was unoccupied Michael allowed us to check in Friday night, which we really appreciated. It's wonderful to return to a clean, beautifully furnished cottage that you're familiar with; no surprises. Since we were last here in November, we weren't able to appreciate the gorgeous river views from the shared lawn area. It's absolutely beautiful any time of day; I took a book and a glass of wine and sat in an Adirondack chair on several occasions during our stay this week. Although this is a cluster of about 8 cottages, it was quiet all week; there is an unspoken respect for fellow cottage owners who have renters visiting and we loved that. The area itself has so much to offer; we visited the Arundel Flea Market, which is a picker's/antiquer's paradise, and it's an easy drive to Freeport as well. Lots of great restaurants, with a few new offerings on this visit (Yeto's is a MUST). Ferry Beach is very close; we prefer Pine Point which is also a stone's throw. The temps were on the cool side this week so we did not sit by the pool, which is very pretty and well maintained. We turned on the gas fireplace a few times in the evening or early morning, which was great. We've already inquired about an early April stay for Passover with family, and this little cottage is quickly becoming a favorite of ours. Comfort, cleanliness, location, responsive owner, excellent value for the money, and a wonderful setting. It has it all! Thanks so much, Michael and Patricia, for another great stay.

Beautiful property and centrally located to beaches and nightlife. Very clean and the neighborhood is welcoming and friendly. Mike was a pleasure to work with and we look forward to coming back next year.
Our week in Saco
This was our first family trip to Maine. Myself, Husband, 12y son and 14y daughter. The cottage was comfy and cozy and plenty of room. The property was beautiful with lake front access and very close to Camp Ellis with beautiful beach access. We enjoyed morning and evening walks on the beach; fishing from the dock on property (I do recommend an upgrade to the dock - it is very popular and the size and condition is quite small and weathered); swimming in a beautiful heated pool, campfire s’mores; swinging on the tree swing and so much more.
Mike, the owner, offered many tips for dining and outings. We tried them all and none disappointed. The residents, both full-time and vacationers, we friendly and inviting without being intrusive.
This vacation offered the ability to relax and do nothing some days to being a bustling tourist and visiting amusement rides and tourists shops at Old Orchard Beach just minutes away. We did both and much more in between.
Saco and especially Ferry Beach and Camp Ellis is so charming. Easy to walk or bike; beautiful homes; friendly communities.
We highly recommend a visit.
Already missing my walk on the beach tonight and that Salty air.
This cottage is in a great location. A short drive from Portland. Very serene setting with spectacular sunsets over the water.
