While I was living in The Cottage (VRBO 384587) I noticed The Victorian three blocks away was in foreclosure. I love old houses! After seeing the monumental overhaul it needed, saying a few prayers, and talking to family and friends, I bought it...and was instantly overwhelmed!
First project: Put in a huge deck in back--the beautiful views kept me inspired during the long rehab. And now it's all finished and worth every bit of the TLC it required. Hopefully it blesses my guests as well!
Deborah purchased this house in 2007
Thank you so much! We enjoyed our stay! It was so nice to have a family-friendly place. The accommodations were great--fully furnished w/ laundry included! :)
Property was great for our volunteer board retreat (17 people). Everyone had a bed, and the additional kitchen upstairs was amazing! The only issue is maybe the area. It looks a little run down, but all of us felt safe the entire weekend! Will definitely consider next time we are in the area!
This is our second trip to this area and second time to stay here. It easily accommodates a large group. The kitchen is great for cooking and we always bar-b-que the last night and eat outside overlooking the Ohio River. Simply beautiful. Everything you need is provided and Deborah is great. I'm sure we will be staying again!
WOW! My family's first reunion with my family was made even more special by staying at the Victorian. The charm of the house was wonderful. "Customer service" was outstanding. The house was clean and well maintained. The view was breathtaking from both upper and lower levels. The house itself was all we could have wanted in both location, comfort and privacy. We were able to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter (both are full day events). Then we returned to a place that felt like home. Everyone was impressed and I looked like a smarter cooky than I am. Thank you all.
Our extended family was split between the Victorian and General Store, in order to visit both the Creation Museum and lifesize Ark. We were four families in the Victorian and it accommodated us very well. Deborah promises cleanliness with her properties, and that was delivered for sure! Loved the upstairs 3-season river overlook room, and the back deck was nice for enjoying the river as well. The downstairs kitchen was very well stocked. Very charming, clean home and we'd stay there again.
There was so much room and it was absolutely beautiful there. If we ever go that way again we will be sure to stay there again.
It was wonderful to find such a beautiful place just outside the city. The interior was clean and very functional.
The riverview from the balcony and the sunroom was breath-taking.
Overall, it was very peaceful and serene. I hope to return to this place next year as my family make annual trip to Kentucky.
