Tom and Nell Hartley purchased this house in 2000
Purchased this home when I was working in Orlando. Our family enjoys coming to visit Winter Park, where we have fond memories and local friends.
The floor plan, brick-paved patio, beautiful fenced-in backyard, and master bedroom porch are among our favorite aspects of the home. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on either side of the large living area. The unique floor plan provides privacy for couples traveling together and or parents and children. The arrangement and furnishings support entertaining.
We really had no idea what we were getting into coming to Orlando, but had to be there for a summer dance intensive for two of our four girls at the Orlando Ballet. We searched all over Orlando, as the intensive had a location on the north and south side of town. We, miraculously, landed here and it was perfect! The house is just adorable, with plenty of space for our family of 6. The location was just amazing. We enjoy staying in shape, and the neighborhood made for just great walks and runs. For the triathlete in the family, there were 3 YMCA facilities within a mile (one 50 Meter pool, one indoor pool (a bit of a sauna), and one with a 25 yard outdoor lap pool and great kids facility). Cycling? Group rides (very fast with incredibly talented riders) pass by every morning, including the long-running Saturday Lakemont ride that originates at a shopping center just around the corner. Quiet, peaceful and lovely all around. The owners are great to work with, and their daughter-in-law lives just down the street. They are all just wonderful people! Not sure if we'll be doing another dance intensive but, if we do, we'll do everything we can to stay here again. Highly, highly recommend. Thanks so much!
We recently had the pleasure of renting this lovely home. From the moment we spoke to the owners, about the possibility of renting, we were welcomed like family. The house is in a fantastic location close to everything you would need for a great vacation including movie theaters, restaurants, and grocery stores. We booked as last minute as it can get and had no problem arriving to a clean and comfortable house. The backyard is magical and our children loved playing in the grass kicking around the soccer ball. The house is set up with everything you can think of and beautifully furnished with comfortable furnishings. We loved staying there and hope to again in the future. Thank you to the owners for making the whole experience absolutely wonderful.
I had a very enjoyable month's rental in March in this cute, bungalow type home. The owners had flowers on the table to greet me and were very attentive to any needs during my stay. The location is nice with a lovely, flowering back yard and patio. I was near main roads, shopping areas and the quaint downtown of Winter Park. I would definitely rent this place again if I return to the area.
My husband and I were delighted to find this rental home as clean and inviting as its pictures. We were greeted upon arrival by daughter-in-law Barbara who was the point person throughout our stay. Barbara was very accessible and responsive the entire time with any issues that came up. She was a delight to deal with. Thank you, Barbara!
The home was more than adequate for the two of us for our month-long stay - we did not use the second bedroom or den. The kitchen/living area, while not large, is open and gives a spacious feel. The kitchen itself has all new or newer appliances and cabinets and is stocked with all necessary cooking /serving pieces. The master bedroom is roomy with a comfy king bed and large walk-in closet. The two bathrooms are very serviceable and the shower in the master is a deep stall with great water pressure. Loved it! The backyard is so pretty.
We explored in and around Winter Park for the month. We did not go to the Disney Parks. There is much to do for a sophisticated stay including many smaller museums and the Winter Park Playhouse. Downtown is great fun, and many an afternoon can be enjoyed strolling and shopping - and, of course, eating in the many restaurants/cafes. Don't miss the boat tour. And be sure to explore the town by foot or by car -- enjoy the many lakes, cobblestone streets, and beautiful homes.
We really enjoyed everything Winter Park has to offer and having this clean, comfortable house to come home to after a day out, made our stay even more enjoyable.
Nell and Barbara were a godsend to us. Our original house fell through and they helped us very quickly. The house was ready for us almost immediately. It was very clean and up to date. They have a beautiful back yard and everything you could possibly need to have an enjoyable vacation. Starbucks, Whole Foods, Publix, and Walgreens are less than .25 (5 min) away from the house; and about 10 minutes from Park Avenue. It can comfortably sleep 5-6 people.
Check in and check out was very easy and simple. Would definitely book again!
This home is an easy drive to all of the Disney parks - we could be there in about 30 minutes which isn't any longer than it takes to get a Disney bus from a resort to a park! So nice to come back after a long park day and have space to stretch out and multiple bathrooms. The owners really see you as a guest and the manager gave us great information about local pizza and restaurants! I highly recommend this location! My d!aughter especially loved having her own room!
