Our family is from Tulsa, OK. This villa was purchased for family use when the kids were younger. We still use it mainly for family use, but have decided to share this wonderful property with others.
Beau and Lynn Grisez purchased this villa in 1980
Siesta Key is home to one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world. Siesta’s sand originated thousands of years ago from the Appalachian area. Whiter than the sand at any other beach in the area, Siesta’s sand is also known for its relative coolness even on the hottest of days. Those qualities are derived from the content of sand, which is indeed unique from any other beach in the world Siesta sand is 99.9 percent quartz. This makes the sand appear very white. And because of the way the crystals have been worn down, the sand is exceptionally soft. This sand along with the laid back 'key' lifestyle is what made our parents chose this property over 30 years ago.
Steps to the beach. Small, quiet complex, close to restaurants and shops. This is the only villa in the complex with a screen porch. Others have decided to increase the interior square footage, we decided to keep the original screen porch for morning coffee and evening happy hours.
This property did not live up to our expectations. The kitchen was stocked adequately but dishes and cookware were dirty. The bathroom towels are thin and old and need to be replaced. If you use more than one set of towels per person requiring more than 2 total loads of wash you are charged. I don't mind doing a Load or 2 at the beach but the laundry facilities were not convenient. The sheets on the bed were pilling up and need to be replaced. The screened in lanai was relaxing. Accessibility to the beach and strip were perfect. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The walls are poorly insulated allowing you to easily hear your neighbors conversations. We felt like whoever is responsible for cleaning did a less than adequate job! We loved our get away because we love siesta key. What we read about this unit and expected were not congruent.
