About John Plucinski
My family settled in the North Fork in 1949 and we have lived or vacationed here ever since. Once a land of potato farms, we have watched it evolve into vineyards and horse farms which have maintained the rural beauty of this area. Wisteria Court will always hold a special place in our hearts as we had our wedding reception there. Since then we have enjoyed introducing our children and friends to this special place.
John Plucinski purchased this Chateau / Country House in 1984
Why John Plucinski chose South Jamesport
I purchased this from my parents who had owned the property since 1970 in order to keep it in our family. It has been the setting for numerous gatherings and vacations-- Christmas-tree trimming parties to Fourth of July BBQs.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
This is truly a unique home, built by a candy manufacturer from Manhattan. Rumor has it that President John F. Kennedy stayed here in 1960. From when you see the green-tile roof and expansive wrap-around covered porch, to when you first climb the red-carpeted staircase, you will know that this is a home like no other.

Stayed here for the weekend of our wedding at Jamesport Manor. Beautiful spacious house that allowed for the bridal party to get ready, great place for pictures, and located a mile from our venue. Communication with John was fast and easy. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.
Thanks for the kind words. Glad our home could be part of your special day.
Best stay in wonderful home
This home is a gem, perfect or a large family. We really enjoyed our stay and will be visiting again next year.
We would love to have you back! You were great guests!
Great stay in South Jamesport
Recently rented this for out of town relatives. This is a beautiful home and quite an experience to see all the incredible details of this home. They all enjoyed their stay and marveled at the construction of such a wonderful house. This home is exactly as pictured on the website. If you stay here I hope you enjoy how special this house is and appreciates all it's details. The owner could not have been more helpful and extended us every courtesy. Thank you, John for the experience.
Thank you for the kind words. You were wonderful guests!
We came to the East End of Long Island for a family wedding. Even though it was a very hot weekend we were able to stay cool with the air conditioners. The porch was amazing.! We loved just hanging and relaxing on the porch. Very close to the venue and very close to the water. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Comfort, Style and a great time
This is a second stay at this beautiful house and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. Location near the beach...great. The space in this magnificent house...great. We will be back. Thank you John.
Great having you back! You always leave the house in phenomenal shape. The perfect guests!
Spacious and Gracious Home
We rented Wisteria Court for the Groomsmen and wives for my son's wedding weekend.
It is spacious and has a stately mansion feeling, and is very comfortable. Nice owner who is great to deal with and responds quickly. Fantastic location in the Jamesport/Aquebogue area - very near the beach, vineyards, and some great restaurants. Everyone had a wonderful time!
Jamesport is in the heart of the North Fork Wine Country with 24 vineyards all within easy driving distance-- many of which offer music, tours and tastings. The Peconic Bay is just a two block walk with gentle surf perfect for families. The town beach and marina is a five minute drive, complete with a playground, showers , lit tennis and basketball courts. The area is perfect for biking to let you explore the inlets and beaches, spy on herons and egrets, or get some pleasurable exercise. With so many farms surrounding the area, there is a wonderful array of fresh produce, pick your own strawberries, blueberries, peaches and apples-- not to mention freshly roasted corn, pony rides and petting zoos.
