Overview

About the property

Architect-designed 3 bedroom 2 bath contemporary. Walk to our private beach!

Our Truro home offers up to six guests a quiet retreat in a beautiful natural setting with lots of activity right outside the door. It provides the best of both worlds: tranquility and a base for fun and exploration.

Our three-story 1700 square foot house sits on a 3/4 acre wooded bluff on a quiet dead-end road. The house features walls of windows and is full of light. It has an open floor plan, soaring cathedral ceilings, a large deck (newly re-built), screened porch, a second floor balcony off the master bedroom, cozy nooks for reading, and a great hot-water outdoor shower. The water view is amazing; on clear days you can see all the way to Plymouth, MA, and because it faces west you will see beautiful sunset skies over the water.

The main living floor has a separate area for dining, a wood stove, comfortable furniture, water views and great sunsets. The photos do not begin to capture the views. The fully equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar; if you like to cook you will find everything you need and a dishwasher to make clean-up easy. The screened porch is off the kitchen and offers a shady retreat from the sun (and bugs!) for conversation or a meal.

The master bedroom with queen bed is on the top floor, is designed as a loft over the living room, has sliders to the balcony and lots of windows. It has a separate seating area with sofa and can be used as a nursery (no crib provided). The master bath features a large tiled shower with skylight. The ground level of the house has two additional bedrooms (one with double bed and one with two twins) and a full bath (shower only). These bedrooms are bright and sunny with large windows that look out into a forest of pine and oak trees.

Additional amenities include outdoor furniture for lounging and dining, a charcoal grill, washer and dryer, a television with basic cable, radio, a dock for MP3 players and ipods, wifi throughout the house, and an assortment of games and puzzles.

Our home has been carefully and thoroughly maintained, with frequent cleaning, painting and upgrades as needed. Deck and balcony were rebuilt in 2015, and are spectacular.

Many activities are just a short walk away. Stroll to the private tennis court or to our gorgeous Bay beach with calm water for swimming and miles of unobstructed sand, or bring a bike for the challenge of cycling Truro's hills. In 10 minutes by car you can be at Ballston Beach on the ocean side for swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, stand-up paddle-boarding or fishing, or you can stop at Pamet Harbor to launch your kayak if you bring one.

The town of Truro has two small groceries, several fish stores, a farm stand, several liquor stores and a number of restaurants. Within two miles of our house you will find one of the small groceries, which also sells wine and beer and prepares sandwiches for the beach, and a fish market that also sells some meats. The towns of Wellfleet and Provincetown have more commercial activity, along with fine and casual dining, galleries, and boat rentals.

This house is unique. Please view our photos and imagine yourself in this lovely home in an amazing, beautiful place.

Why Darcy Lettieri chose Cape Cod

My husband and I fell in love with this beautiful plot of land: a west-facing waterview - unusual on the East Coast - with lots of mature pines, oaks and heather. Being fairly young and fearless, we engaged an architect and builder and built this house (there was a lot of sweat equity too!). Over thirty years later we are still struck by the beauty when we pull into the driveway and open the door.

What makes this house unique

Truro is very special, and our home reflects that. We offer a quiet place away from the bustle and busyness that can fill our days, but close to activities that are fun and refreshing.

A PERFECT Truro experience

  • 5 of 5

As wonderful as the description and the photos were, the house exceeded our expectations. And the private beach (a short walk from the house) at times felt like it was ours alone. A great home. A great location... close to Wellfleet, close to the ocean beaches (if you can tear yourselves away from your private bay beach) ... and a quick drive to Provincetown. Mornings with coffee on the porch, evenings with wine on the same porch. You're in a mini pine forest. So private, yet so close by car to Wellfleet (small walkable town, great restaurants in town and on the harbor), Truro (wonderful deli/grocery and a brilliant fish market), and Provincetown. We knew the area before we found this house. And we wonder now what took us so long!

Owners beyond helpful when there were questions. A perfect week!

Truro is a gorgeous place. Much of the land and almost all of the beach is part of Cape Cod National Seashore and Cape Cod National Forest. Truro itself is spacious and quiet, but within 20 minutes of the shops, galleries and restaurants of the quaint towns of Wellfleet and Provincetown.
