Villa Gaia is a modern villa with all the comfort and convenience we expect of a contemporary design, coupled with a delightful setting and the subtly welcoming atmosphere of a well loved home.
Contemporary style and comfort, combined with chic simplicity and cool spaciousness make Villa Gaia a wonderful choice for a completely relaxing holiday.
A villa with a very individual imprint, tucked into one of the pretty olive groves that cover the hillsides overlooking Mikros Gialos, it gives an amazingly welcoming first impression...
The villa exceeded the description details and our expectations and was in an ideal location, secluded enough to be quiet but close to local ammenities. It was maintained to a very high standard and equipped with everything you could possibly need on holiday. We enjoyed excellent service from the owners who we were fortunate enough to meet personally whilst there. We really enjoyed the garden and pool which had stunning views over the bay.
Our only regret is that we only stayed for a week and our granddaughter (4) is already planning a return trip. We can definitely see ourselves returning. Do not be fooled by thinking the description is too good to be true - it really is that good. Highly recommended.

We were delighted that the villa is as lovely as the photos and owners descriptions.
We usually ask ourselves at the end of our stay, would we come to this location again and would we stay in the same place.
We said yes to both these questions at the end of our 1st day.
If you want a private location, with a decent selection of restaurants but something thats authentic and not commercial, stay here.
We will be staying again, more than once.
We had a very special holiday (14 days) at Villa Gaia!
Staying as family with two small children (1 and 5), we even had everything we need for a nice time. The Villa is great and well-maintained. The location of the villa is very good: no immediate neighbours, no noise and all that just a 5 minute walk to the beach on your own private path.
The beach area is small and friendly, the sunloungers were in this time for free becuase of wery friendly restaurant owner.
The water in the bay is one of the clearest on the island, this we have determinated during our stay and visiting a lot of other places inclusive west coast.
Lefteris and Kate were so helpful throughout the booking process and called us as we was on the island to navigate us to the villa, although we were earlier than necessary. Our special thanks goes to Lefteris' brother Zois who was around to introduce to the Villa and help with any questions (free use of a motorboat for 1 day to explore the nearby islands!)
All in all we had a very nice holiday - it is a great Villa in a beautiful location, with a small friendly village within walking distance, everything perfect for a low key relaxing holiday. Thank you Lefteris and Kate.
This villa is not meant to be left, ever! We could stay there forever! Spacious rooms, all facilities in place, charming view, excellent attitude and service, beautiful yard, unbelievable location, not a single remark... Can't wait to go back there next summer.

We had a wonderful week at Villa Gaia at the end of July, staying as family with two 14 year olds and Granny. The Villa is absolutely lovely, just as good, or even better than in the pictures. The position is great - a 5 minute walk to the beach on your own private path - we had no concerns about the girls popping up and down on their own, and the beach area is small and friendly and they happily hired their sunloungers on their own and got ice creams or sat in the little cafe at the back of the beach where all the staff are really friendly.
The view from the Villa is charming looking down onto the bay, and the view from the beach is fabulous looking out to sea. The beach is white pebbles, and the water was warm, clear and perfect in July.
The Villa has amazing evening outside and pool lighting that comes on automatically and looks magical - especially when you are out in the evening in the vilage looking back up at the Villa perched above the beach.
Lefteris and Kate were so helpful throughout the booking process and helped with car hire and taxi transfers that all went really smoothly - and when we were there Lefteris' brother Zois was around to introduce to the Villa and help with any questions (and a free Pedalo ride!)
Zois was on the beach most days and there were canoes and pedalos to hire.
There were about 5 or 6 local restaurants - we especially liked the view from the elevated restaurant with a balcony veranda in the campsite at the back of the beach and the restaurants round the bay slightly near the small 'harbour'. There was also the smart boutique hotel round the bay slightly for a 'sophisticated' night out (all of these would have been in walking distance from the Villa, although we took the car as we had Granny with us and they were a 2 or 3 minute drive).
The Villa was really comfortable and the outside seating areas beautifully thought through, and pool was great, especially having shallow steps in as well as a ladder.
All in all we had a really excellent holiday - it is a great Villa in a beautiful location, with a small friendly village within walking distance, everything perfect for a low key relaxing holiday. Thank you Lefteris and Kate.
We must start by thanking Kate and Lefteris for all their help with arranging the booking and car hire and also the rest of their family who live in Poros who looked after us so well during your holiday.
Villa Gaia is absolutely beautiful. It is very tastefully decorated / furnished and is kept very clean by the family. We have holidayed at a number of Greek Villas before and Villa Gaia is by far and away the best we have stayed in. It is perfectly positioned by itself on the hillside with excellent views over Rouda beach and bay.
The garden and pool area is well laid out with plenty of seating areas to enjoy the sunshine or shade. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts at the large outside dinning table after walking down the path to the village to collect fresh bread and croissants. The beach at Rouda bay is pebbly and during our stay (first week in June) it was lovely and quiet and we enjoyed afternoon swimming and snorkeling.
There are a good choice of Tavernas along Rouda bay and a few small mini markets that sell most things you may need. We bbq'd a few times and you will need to go into Nidri to buy fresh meat and fish.
We highly recomend Villa Gaia, you will not be disapointed.

Thank you Kate and Lefteris for letting us stay at your beautiful villa. It was everything and more than we could have wished for. Tastefully furnished and very clean the villa and gardens are an oasis set in the hillside overlooking the archetypal Greek village of Mikros Gialos. It is evident the family locally take great care of the property. Plenty of seating areas to enjoy the sunshine or shade and we all loved the pool as it was great for cooling off.
Particularly liked the track down to the beach and village for collecting fresh bread in the morning and a relaxing swim in the late afternoon.
We never tired of drinking in the view from the villa down to the village which had everything you could need - choice of tavernas, couple of bars, supermarket and a small upmarket hotel at the end of the harbour.
We made the most of our two weeks in Lefkada to visit the island and liked Sivota, Lefkas Town and Agios Nikitas but we always loved returning home to our haven, Villa Gaia. A boat trip around the island is highly recommended
We did not need to worry about the rumours about problems with the Greek economy. Our experience was of a nation trying very hard to welcome visitors and genuine friendliness showed through with excellent service wherever we went. We found purchases and dining out was not as expensive as we had feared and was excellent value.
We will be back, thank you again!
Villa Gaia is located in Mikros Gialos, a small sea resort, close to the village of Poros, in the south-east coast of the island of Lefkada (Lefkas) and one of the most beautiful and tranquil villages. Lefkada is one of the seven Ionian Islands located off the west coast of mainland Greece and lies between the islands of Corfu and Kefalonia.
It's a beautiful, fertile island with some superb beaches, an imposing mountainous interior and verdant valleys carpeted with vineyards, olive groves and cotton fields.
Mikros Gialos is a tranquil little village set around Rouda bay. Rouda beach is a beautiful pebbly beach with crystal clear azure waters. There are only a few hotels and apartments in the area, making this an ideal location for relaxing holidays. In addition to a few restaurants and traditional tavernas, there are a couple of mini-markets that can provide a lot of essential items without having to travel to a bigger town.
