Serenity in Sarasota
We had a fantastic stay! We found the house to be beautiful, well kept and very clean. Everything we expected after reviewing the photos online.
It is located in a quiet neighborhood. The privacy and beauty of the yard and pool made it a lovely place to relax.
Our host was easy to reach, friendly, helpful and attentive. We found the location convenient to all the shops, sites and restaurants that we enjoy.
We would definitely return!

Enjoyed our stay very much. Very accommodating home and nice pool.
Disappointed that there was an additional $50 per week to heat pool. Never saw this at all until we arrived and looked in the book.
Suggestions to improve:
* Solar blanket for pool so heat wouldn't be lost each night.
* Better pool loungers as they are getting pretty tired.
* While BBQ worked fine once lit; it is getting pretty burnt out. Could use a long handled lighter to light.
* Better vacuum cleaneer and more cleaning supplies
Upon arrival, the home appeared to be in excellent condition! It was cozy, decorated nicely, and we felt very welcomed! However, we noticed right away that the pool was filthy and freezing cold. I immediately contacted Thomas letting him know that the pool heater hadn’t been turned on. In the same text, I complimented his home and told him we were very pleased up to that point with everything. When I didn’t receive a reply, I then contacted the propery managers (and next door neighbors) Markus and Stacy letting them know about the pool and that I had text AND messaged Thomas on VRBO but hadn’t heard back.
As we continued to our bedroom, my husband and I found two bottles of mediciation in our bathroom (bathroom connected to the king room) and a used kleenex peeking out from under the bed. Being the understanding and sensible person I think I am, I dismissed the fact that our room wasn’t exactly “clean”.
On Monday, the pool guy arrived, “cleaned” the pool and turned on the heater. The pool was still filthy and my husband took it upon himself to utulize the pool net and clean it himself. Being that we were staying for such a short time, the pool never did heat up for us to enjoy. If guest are paying extra to enjoy the “heated” pool, the pool should be cleaned and the heater should be turned on prior to guest arrival.
Despite my frustrations and concerns regarding the pool and unclean guest room, I had no intentions of leaving this review. It wasn’t until last night when I received a message from Thomas stating he wouldn’t be refunding our deposit in full, that I decided I would share my experience.
Thomas states that someone had smoked in the home (nobody in our party smokes), that the grill was dirty, and that the home took longer than usual to get cleaned! My husband, mother, father, and I left that home in prestine condition and followed the list of “things to do” prior to guest departure left in the guest book … and then some! Being a very cleanly person and homeowner, I know the importance of a clean home. My mother, father, husband and I are very respectful people and I felt we went above and beyond to leave the home in BETTER condition than we found it (no used kleenex or mediciation bottles left, that’s for sure!)
I replied to Thomas message letting him know of my disgust and kindly told him that if he needs the deposit more than we do, he can keep it. I am not upset about not getting the money – it is the principal that upsets me.
