3 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms, 1 Fireplace And 2 Wood burning Stoves Walk
About Steve Ferrante
We met during our sophomore year of college at Baylor University. One month after we graduated we were married! That was 50 years, 2 kids and 7 grandchildren ago. During our time together I was a minster and my wife was a high school teacher; now we are retired. We also worked in the mission field for some time. We spent 5 months in Spain and 5 years in Kenya helping the people there and learning many valuable life lessons from them as well.
Steve Ferrante purchased this House in 1994
Why Steve Ferrante chose Estes Park
“We were looking for three characteristics when we bought this 1923 vintage cabin twenty years ago…and we found them! A breath-taking view of the big mountains, a moss-rock fireplace, and an expansive covered front porch with panoramic views of Longs Peak = wow!” Located at the end of a quiet street The Joy Cabin renders privacy only 1.8 miles from downtown Estes Park. When some people come to the mountains, they want to relax… they long to spend peaceful hours being refreshed by the mountain air, observing elk and deer in the front yard along with hummingbirds and bluebirds, and hearing the breeze through the centuries old ponderosa pines on this two-thirds of an acre property. Others may enjoy hiking, biking, or climbing while many love to eat out, take in a movie or stroll down the river-walk shopping, eating caramel corn or a delicious ice cream cone! Estes Park is an ideal vacation spot to do what you enjoy. The vaulted ceiling in the sun-room/dining room of The Joy Cabin provides a sunny greeting for a first cup of coffee! The remodeled kitchen includes a front-loading washer and dryer, a stainless Kitchenaide dishwasher, and all the amenities of your home away from home. A cable 46” flat screen TV and WiFi along with a landline telephone enable you to connect with the world (if you so choose) or you may just want to lie in the hammock and read a good book; either is possible on this vacation. Two cozy bedrooms upstairs allow for privacy. The larger bedroom provides one queen bed and a trundle with two twin beds. The other bedroom contains a double bed and a pack ‘n play if necessary. The master suite on the main floor is furnished with a cedar log queen bed, a wood burning stove and its own private three-piece bathroom. A vaulted ceiling and multiple windows simply bring the outdoors inside.

Perfect mountain get-a-way
Wonderfully charming and yet modern and comfortable! Thanks for sharing!
We stayed here once before in 2014. When we decided last minute to head to Estes Park and found this house available we grabbed it. It's a comfortable home, a great location, and well equipped. But the big draw for us is the front porch. That porch rocks!! In more ways than one. There are 4 rocking chairs and a porch swing. And you cannot beat the views. We like the Joy Cabin and would definitely stay here again.
Great place to stay and supr close to the park!
Great place to stay and super close to the park! The hummingbird feeders were a big hit, attracting up to 7 hummingbirds at once!
We enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful cabin and location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. Location was super convenient to RMNP. Cabin had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Enjoyed the historic nature of the cabin. Thank you for sharing it with us.
