Stunning view is right!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is charming and set on a cliff in the lemon orchards. We had such a wonderful time ! The steps up and back to Ravello are definitely doable if you are in fairly good shape. The walk is fun and we felt very healthy eating all that we did because of all the exercise! The kitchen is well supplied and we cooked most of the time. What a gorgeous setting. We really enjoyed staying here and Tano is the best!

Stunning views from a secluded villa on the Amalfi Coast

  • 5 of 5

This is a gem for renting a private place on the Amalfi Coast. The villa is spacious, well-appointed, comfortable and, of course, with stunning views. This is a perfect base for exploring Ravello, the Amalfi Coast, Capri Island and even Naples and Pompeii. Tano is a great host, from the booking of the villa to the arrival, and he was always reachable by phone or email.

The best view on the Amalfi Coast from your lovely, private terrace

  • 5 of 5

Over the past several decades our favourite Italian view has been that of the Amalfi coast from the terrace of Villa Cimbrone in Ravello. (Don’t miss visiting Villa Cimbrone & Villa Rufolo.) Imagine our delight when we realized our villa was on the cliff directly underneath the Villa Cimbrone, in a lemon, grape, and fig orchard, with the exact same view from our terrace. What’s more, this view is what you also see from two of the bedrooms and the open kitchen/dining room/living room. This villa is quiet and secluded, versus the hustle and bustle up above in Ravello.

Even though this villa is approx. 300 metres along a scenic path from where you park your car (adjacent to the San Cosma bus stop just below the entrance to Ravello), followed by 50 paces down a path plus another 88 steps down to the villa’s terrace, it is definitely worth the effort. Our fabulous host Tano transported all our luggage to/from the villa. To get up into Ravello’s main square you have 4 choices….walk up the path and more steps, or by bus/taxi, or by car if you can find a parking spot.

If a cooking class interests you, the renowned Mamma Agata Cooking School is a 2 minute walk from this villa. (www.mammaagata.com)

Please note when you walk up the steps from the villa you can turn LEFT on the path to walk down to Atrani and Amalfi (or walk up one of the two routes up into Ravello), or turn RIGHT towards San Cosma and then either walk up another set of steps to Ravello or walk down the road and follow the signs for the paths/steps to the small coastal town of Minori. This was our favourite walk. It took us about one hour followed by lunch in Minori and a bus/taxi back to San Cosma.

Every time you walk to/from San Cosma you will pass by a small Bar. Drop in for one of Marco’s great espressos, panini, or pastries.

It was a delight dealing with Tano, from the time of booking his villa, to our arrival reception, and was always reachable by phone/text or email. The villa was clean and well maintained and the wi-fi reception was excellent. Ideal for two couples since the third bedroom is small and windowless. Well done Tano. Grazie mille.

A separate reality all to yourself

  • 5 of 5

It was amazing to look over the Belvedere Terrace at Villa Cimbrone and see the roof of your own private paradise nestled among glowing orchards immediately below. We arrived to trees hung with ripe, sweet-smelling lemons over our heads. The villa is secluded, quiet, removed from traffic and bustle, a separate reality, with an ever-changing spectacle of mountains, sea, boats and sky from terrace and just about every room.

There are two paths to Ravello, each with distinct character and

different views. The way down to Atrani is also right beside the villa. From there you can walk to Amalfi, where ferries depart for Capri and Salerno, then catch the bus back to Ravello. Be aware that there are many steps to climb, and walks everywhere are steep. We spent a day on Capri, another visiting Pompeii, and an evening attending concert in the Annunziata Historic Building, walking home afterwards under the stars, breathing in the fragrance of sea and lemon groves.

Tano was very kind and helpful. He transported our luggage from our car to the villa. He looked after all our needs, including printing out some tickets late at night. He was a great host. The property was comfortable and well-maintained.

We loved the villa, would recommend it to anyone, and hope to return ourselves one day.

Stunning place to stay at

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful place with really excellent view at the hillside. The house in a farmland area surrounded by lemon and fig trees and grapes. The house is spotless, comfortable, well equipped and has large spaces and a large terrace with excellent view to the see, the hills and the other villages around.Tano, the landlord was very helpful, we arrived quite late, but he was waiting for us, gave us maps, advice where to go, which restaurants worth to visit, and was always available on the phone if we needed something. The see and the beaches are in a bit of distance, the walks are very nice, but you need to be ready to do many stairs, if you choose to walk. There are many things to see in Ravello, or in Amalfi, but Pompei, Herculaneum Naples, are also not far away.
