Our family includes two grown sons; two daughter-in-laws: and two granddaughters, all in Alabama. We enjoy taking our family for fun filled adventures and now, relaxing days at the beach building sandcastles with our granddaughter. We live in Katy, Texas, just west of Houston. David is a native Texan born in Midland, while Joan was raised in Birmingham, Alabama. We love visiting the gulf coast with its many activities. We have visited Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for a number of years and decided to invest in a condominium for our family to enjoy. The earliest reviews on this site were from the previous owners, who were gracious enough to leave them up for us, but our changes seem to be well received. After purchasing the condo we began to add soothing paint colors and make other improvements. Our goal is to make this a relaxing, comfortable place for you to enjoy as much as we do!
Joan purchased this Condo in 2014
Why Joan chose Orange Beach
After viewing numerous other complexes we found that the Phoenix East complex was well maintained; had lovely landscaping; and a beautiful pool area that looks directly to the beach. We picked this particular unit for its recent upgrades and breathtaking view of the gulf. We were also impressed with the amenities here that many other complexes lacked. The condominium has a heated indoor pool for cooler weather enjoyment, 2 hot tubs, sauna, a fully equipped exercise room, racquetball court, 2 tennis courts, basketball court, kids’ splash pad, 6 charcoal grills and poolside gazebos in which to have a picnic. High Speed WIFI is provided throughout the building and pool area. The Phoenix East lobby area is comfortable and welcoming, with a book exchange and coffee. The 24 hour Phoenix East staff is professional, friendly and eager to be of help. This complex is within walking distance of Perdido Pass, The Gulf Beach café, and the San Roc Cay Marina shopping area. There are a variety of nearby restaurants that offer casual fare to fine dining. There are numerous water, boating, and fishing opportunities. Nature trails for walking and biking are very popular. If you are on the beach and look to the East there is a jetty that you can fish from, and get a close up view of the boats traversing the pass to and from the Gulf.
What makes this Condo unique
From the parking lot, the unit is on the second floor. There is easy access to the elevators and just steps away from the stairwell. The entry area is quiet and unobstructed. From the beach side, the spacious balcony of the unit is on the third level and the gulf view is spectacular. Early mornings find us relaxing on the balcony with coffee before our daily beach walk. Sunsets and Sunrises are NOT to be missed from the balcony, or the occasional view of dolphins swimming by the shore. The Perdido Pass jetty and boat traffic are clearly visible. We refer to Unit 202 as “Sweet Home Alabama”, because our times of R&R there are truly sweet. We plan to retire in a couple of years and are headed back to Alabama to live, but we will always have a special feeling for this “Sweet Home” on the beach. Feel free to email or call us with questions. God has blessed us and we love the idea of being able to share our place with others. We hope that you and yours enjoy the same pleasurable times in Orange Beach that have provided such memorable occasions in the lives of our family and friends!

We loved our stay! Very clean and close to everything. We are looking forward to going back.
The property we stayed at was very nice. Would come back.
So happy to hear you enjoyed the condo. Please return!
Wonderful stay, the condo was very clean! Joan was very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
Fantastic place to stay!
The Phoenix East was easy to find and check in was simple! Walking access to the beach and also a clean outdoor pool. We were fortunate to avoid the summer rush and traffic. Quiet early morning walks on the beach watching the sun rise were great. The only negative experience was the unusual amount of jellyfish while we were there. Thanks for letting us stay Joan!
Glad to hear you had a wonderful time.
Please come back.
Clean, comfortable, would recommend
Glad you found the condo in good order. Please come again!
10/10 would stay here again!
Glad you had a great time. Please, do come back!
A favorite beach vacation locale. Phoenix East is located within a short distance from Perdido Pass and the Florida state line. In a short drive you can visit the Pensecola Air and Naval Museum, book a tee time and several outstanding golf courses, or simply enjoy the beach. Boating and shopping are located directly across from the phoenix east property. Walk to several nice restaurants. Too much to do in just one week.
