The Milk House . . unique in every way, and a place for the adventurer who loves a simple, peaceful lifestyle. Originally part of a dairy operation, it still has the large steel doors that admitted cows for milking. I have chosen to keep it much as it was then, w/ the added conveniences of a bathroom and fully equipped kitchen -sink, refrig, microwave, hot plate (but no oven.) The ambiance, the light, the lovely breezes, the beauty & peace of country life make the Milk House truly special.
Keep in mind - this is a tiny, rustic house with concrete floors - an adventure in bygone days when life was physically hard, but simple; and country life was desirable. A mighty wood stove and space heaters keep you cozy in cold weather with air conditioning in the summer.
My office adjoins the Milk House and is separated by the four large steel "cow" doors. Because the doors are not insulated, when guests use the kitchen, they will likely hear me if I am in the office working.
The Milk House is one of the outbuildings on a working 60 acre farm. The nearest neighbor is a long stone's throw away, so the peace, quiet, and beauty of this farm will gently roll away the demand and stresses of life. Add to that, beautiful St. Gertrudis cattle, the boastful, strutting, free -ranging rooster and his Brahman feather-footed hens, some (very) affectionate, but strictly outdoor cats, a hammock under the trees - and you have the idyllic environment of the Milk House at Ozark Highlands. To add to the beauty and peace of Stirling, I am now able to offer the skills of an experienced massage therapist, who brings her table and supplies to the property. One recent guest who has experienced professional massage therapy in her world-wide travels, said, "Elise gave me the best massage I have ever had!" (Advanced notice necessary-payment made directly to Elise.)
