My first visit to Hawaii was in 1986. I knew I wanted to come back, and someday live there. As I raised my children, my thoughts were to raise them on Maui, knowing that the education about the world they would receive would be far more than just books. As life would have it, that was not the case. I kept coming back, every trip I tool was better than the last. I knew I would return...and someday have a home. Life continued to show up for me and I never gave up my dream. Although I am still living on the mainland, I finally bought this condo, and after 26 years, was that much closer to my dream. I live in California, so happy that I can see the ocean, knowing that my next trip to Maui, someday, will be one way.....

Why Lori Dunnell Wheeler chose Kihei
I looked at properties on Maui for several years. I made one offer in 2006, and it was not accepted. I kept looking. Every time I was in Kihei, I would walk the length of south Kihei picking which complex I wanted to be in. I never realized Shores of Maui was a complex that was NOT fully owner occupied. It looked so unassuming, more like an apartment building than like the other condo complexes. After a week of looking in March of 2012, our last stop was Shores of Maui #202. I spent 30 minutes inside, 25 of them on the balcony. I knew. It took me until my plane landed back on the mainland to call and start the ball rolling to buy this unit. I never looked back and look forward to sharing my view with you!
What makes this Condo unique
This unit is lovely inside, however it's crown is the view. Whether it is raining, (less likely on the south side of the island) or the trades are blowing, (highly likely at some point of every given day) the view from this unit is spectacular. Any time of day or night, sun rise, sun set, moon rise, moon set. The high ceilings make the unit spacious, the sound of the waves, divine. We are constantly making changes and upgrades. It only gets better and better. Come enjoy a paradise away from home.

This is a wonderful option for a vacation
! If I have the opportunity I will be back to this condo. Very inviting and updated. Nice supply of beach chairs, umbrella, even snorkel supplies. Nice fully stocked kitchen, minus the usual supply of spices( there were some, and we left some, just used to a huge assortment from previous renters. Great supply of Tupperware, so if you like to cook your own meals you can keep left overs. I hope to be back! Mahalo
Couldn't be closer to the ocean, and the unit itself gets a nice breeze through it, so we didn't turn the A/C on even once. The unit is well equipped and clean.
Just a great stay and hopefully it will be available the next time we go.
Perfect accommodations in perfect location!
Our family of 8 had plenty of room in this condo. We appreciated all of the beach supplies (especially towels!!!). The condo is well stocked with everything we needed. The view is incredible from the lanai. The pool at the complex is well kept and large. BBQing and eating dinner at the pool was wonderful! Watching the surfers every morning became routine with our coffee. Everything was just wonderful. The location is perfect for walking distance in either direction to shops, restaurants, the park, and Charlie Young is a beautiful beach right down the street! Thank you, Karyn, for sharing your home with us! We love Maui and your home made it memorable for our kids’ first trip!
WHALE WATCHING! Sit on the lanai and watch the whales swim and play from November-March. We watched whales breaching while eating breakfast at the kitchen table!
