About Brenda Griffith
I have spent a lifetime traveling all over Europe and North America. The first time I stayed in a rental unit in a private home was in Budapest in 1987. That experience was magical because of the insight I gained into the lives and culture of the local people. Now whenever my family travels, we stay in HomeAway/VRBO properties. I am excited to be able to to share Austin with visitors here, and look forward to making our guests s comfortable and happy as possible so that--be they here for business or vacation--they leave with good memories and want to come back again.

Why Brenda Griffith chose Westcliff
We recently moved back to Austin after 14 years away, and the house we chose is our forever home--my husband and I both plan to die in this house (though not any time soon). It is the only place we have ever lived that deserved its own name (Stone's Throw--because it is a stone's throw away from anything you want to do or see in Austin). It has spectacular views, wonderful neighbors, cooling breezes (even in the summer), and is in such a beautiful setting that just being here soothes and energizes me. I am an artist and an author, and I work primarily in glass. The apartment (we call it the Aerie) perches above my glass studio and has its own private entrance and parking. Because I work on the property I am always available if there are any questions or issues, but it such a extensive place that you'll feel as if you were the only ones here.
What makes this Apartment unique
The house was built in the late 1980's and meticulous attention was paid to the hardscaping in the backyard. There are four levels of decks and patios--all offering incredible views of the hill country and even a slice of downtown Austin. One of my first projects when we arrived was to put in what my husband laughingly calls The Botanical Gardens in the front. It is over a half acre of apiary (we have six beehives); six large raised beds full of native and specialty plants; a large pond with koi, goldfish, frogs, and even a resident red ribbon snake; and a raised bog pond what serves to filter and aerate the water from the pond. Between the front and the back, there are plenty of places to get lost with a good book or just take an outdoor snooze.

Will never stay anywhere else
Myself and three other adults had the pleasure of staying at Westcliff over the summer. Prior to our arrival Brenda was more than helpful with advice regarding points of interest and check in procedures. After three nights we had a change to our plans and Brenda went above and beyond to accommodate us an extra night as well as steer us toward the best barbecue we've had in Texas. The grounds served as a wonderful place for us to relax and enjoy views of the hills and surrounding landscape. We are all so thankful for such a gracious host and a property that was PERFECT for us. Can't wait to go back to Austin and revisit Westcliff. Thank you Brenda!
Delightful getaway in Austin
This is just a wonderful place to stay. Up in the hills on the way to Lake Travis, it's easy to get to, and really a short trip to anywhere in the Austin area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. The coy pond out front was a nice treat. If you're looking for a nice quiet place to stay (and it is quiet), and still be able to easily get to places in Austin, this is it!
We'll be back!
Beautiful area of Austin with great host!

Say yes to this one
Beautiful, great property, welcoming owner !!! We had a relaxing weekend.
Close to Austin & Away from it All!
Open, airy, but comfortable and well thought out. One of favorite places we have stayed.
Very tucked away and private. Surrounded by nature, large, comfortable king bed.
Thank you Brenda!
Great stay in Austin
We had a great stay with our family of four. The apartment was perfect for our two kids (9 and 3). They loved feeding the fish and the room with the twin beds. We would definitely consider staying here if we visit Austin again.
Thank you Margaret. You were wonderful guests and we would love to have you back!
