Steps away from the water, friendly town
About Kathi Williams
We have lived in Northern Virginia for 35 years. Onancock is our weekend getaway. We spent nearly 10 years (of weekends) renovating the house after a fire. The house originally belonged to the historic Cokesbury Church and was the home of the minister. We got caught up in the story and decided to renovate instead of tearing it down. It contains the original heart pine floors in the master bedroom and the beams on the main floor are original. We filled it with some our favorite things, some antiques, some new furniture and just love coming here.
Kathi Williams purchased this House in 2001
Why Kathi Williams chose Onancock
It is a wonderful getaway where you can let your hair down and relax! We love to cycle, kayak and boat so this was the perfect place for us.
What makes this House unique
You can sit on the front porch in a rocking chair and watch the fishing boats go up and down the creek while you drink your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. Whether you are a friend or a stranger, neighbors wave as they walk by. In the summer, you can buy fresh fish right across the street. There is also a farmer's market on Saturdays where you can purchase fresh picked produce and some local seafood. We love that the restaurants are only steps away. The sunsets are beautiful sitting on the deck at Mallards Restaurant.
Dogs only. No cats.

Vacay from my vacay
Great location to walk to everything. Friendly people and phenomenal trees and houses in the town
Lovely classic home
This is a lovely home with all the modern amenities. I had never been to Onancock before, but the town is small and quiet, with enough to do, to keep you busy. I loved the small touches in the house from the kayaker that is etched into the master bathroom shower, to the detail in the kitchen cabinets. The water pressure in the house was better than at home, the air conditioning was cold, and there was enough room for our party of six. One of my favorite parts of the home is the photo album behind the couch that shows all the sweat equity and love the homeowners have put into making the house what it is today.
The house is within short walking distance of the water, an amazing seafood/steak restaurant, multiple breakfast options, a bar and an Italian restaurant. On Saturday mornings you can walk to the small farmers market.
Host was very accommodating to our last minute trip and ensured that we had everything that we needed for a wonderful vacation. They provided lots of recommendations to make the trip as enjoyable as possible.
Can’t wait to stay here again.
Clean, welcoming, beautiful, perfect!
What a lovely home! Absolutely beautiful, comfortable, welcoming... Everything from the very beginning of the search process to checkout was smooth and positive. Kitchen was well stocked, a/c worked perfectly, the owners put together helpful info about the area of Onancock and eastern shore, VA. Would love to come back again!
From start to finish, renting this property was easy. The owner was super responsive and pleasant. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable, with a short walk to the wharf and Mallards (fantastic restaurant). Next time I go back to the Eastern Shore I'll check this listing first!
Peaceful Eastern Shore Home
This was our second year staying at the Parsonage in Onancock. The owners clearly put time and thought into making the perfect vacation home for guests. The kitchen was fully equipped with extensive cooking supplies as well as beautiful dinnerware and serving pieces. The house had a wonderful sunroom for reading and relaxing. We loved being able to walk to the wharf for the water views and into town to enjoy the restaurants and shops in Onancock. The owners were helpful with any questions we had. We hope to return to the Parsonage in the future.
Charming home in excellent location
My extended family rented several house in Onancock to attend a funeral. We visited the others, and ours was by far the nicest house in the best location. We are grateful to the owners for sharing their fabulous home with us.
Historic Onancock is a lovely small town that is family friendly. Onancock Wharf is steps from the house where you can rent a kayak, fish or launch a boat at the public boat ramp. The Chesapeake Bay is a 4 mile paddle with beaches along the way. The town hosts artists and galleries, shops, antiques and wonderful restaurants. If you like to cycle, the Eastern Shore is flat and fun to cycle short or long distances. Waterfront is found at the end of many roads on this small peninsula. The Bay is on one side and the ocean is on the other side. There is a movie theater in town and a playhouse featuring live performances.
