Great place for a large group
This house has an amazing kitchen, we cooked for our 16 person group all weekend and it was perfect. The hot tub is large, everything is just uphill from the river and there are plenty of great places to put up a hammock.
Something for an entire family
Eighteen of us from grandparents (celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary) to our one-year-old grandchild stayed for one week at this beautifully decorated lodge. There was something to entertain everyone. The comfortable recliners for the 75 year old grandpa, the large screen video room, Xbox (although the teens were too busy to play much), toys for the littles, and the lovely hot tub for everyone, plus much more. A short distance down a paved road to the river made it easy for our handicapped family members to enjoy the river with a beautiful sandy beach, whether riding down in the car or using their walkers. Lawn chairs and sand toys were provided. The large kitchen with two of everything made it easy to prepare meals for the crowd and the great room area was huge, so we could all be there together with seating for everyone. And that dining room table! Long enough for us all. We spent a lot of time out on the well-appointed patio.
We all said, "Let's do this again every year!"
The Marianne Lodge was perfect for our church ladies’ retreat. It’s perfectly set up, not just to ‘sleep’ a large group, but a table big enough, a living room comfortable enough, and all that we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Communication was great, check-in/out no issues, and we paid for the extra check-out time which was so worth the small fee. The river and the setting is beautiful. The river is down a steep bank from this particular lodge, so it’s not right on the river bank-which we hadn’t expected, but that could be better if you have small kids to watch, and the chairs set up to enjoy the view were great for a place to read. We definitely want to return-hopefully each year!
Really Quite Perfect
We booked a weekend visit to the Marianne Lodge to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday with 18 guests, and it really was a perfect weekend. From the moment we arrived, people were commenting on how nice the cabin was, how many things were provided to do, and how well it was laid out for a big group to get enough sleep and have spaces to come together. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all big enough for a group, and the bedrooms are down their own hallways so that it's quiet enough for getting a good night's rest. We loved having the fire pit and hot tub easily accessible, and enjoyed being able to walk down to the river's edge. I'm already looking for a time to go back!
Beautiful location and home!
We had 12 of us stay here for a work off site. My team loved the location, the house and everything! It was set up perfectly for our group and we got so much done! Would 100% come here again!
Great Large house for family or large groups
My family and I rented out the Marianne and Jordan Lodges for our family reunion one the 2018 Thanksgiving Weekend. We had a great time in the lodges. They are furnished well with all kinds of activities and supplies for the stay. The one downside for our stay was the driveway to the Jordan Lodge. The driveway is very steep and about 100 ft long. They have a rule that if it snows you are not able to drive down the driveway to the lodge. Now how I can understand that rule for safety purposes, as I am assuming they've had cars either get stuck or slide down the driveway into the river or trees at the end. They do not have stairs to get down the driveway. So when you have to park at the top of the steep 100ft driveway you have to walk down which is just as dangerous walking as it is in a car and it get very slippery when ice builds up from the snow. We had a couple of people slip and fall making the walk up and down. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time before booking the lodge. Other than that issue with the driveway we had an amazing time with our family in a great setting.
Thank you for the 5 star review!!! We do work hard as owners and managers to keep our homes up. Note that the Jordan Lodge information does not reflect the Marianne Lodge. You can drive right up to the front porch at the Marianne Lodge.
