Not what we expected.
August in Arizona is hot. Upon arrival the air conditioning was not working, contacted the manager and she put us in touch with the owner. After we found out nothing could be done to repair it this day, the owner paid for a motel for us for the night. The next day a new unit was installed and we returned.
The listing showed internet service and cable TV. We had neither. After the owner made arrangements for internet, a modem arrived on Tuesday the fourth day after our arrival. We had to install it. Still no cable TV. We were told there was an air antenna so that was it. We were at least getting local channels.
This place is definitely dated. It appeared to have been vacant for awhile as a musty odor was prevalent. My wife had to clean the floor where the stool and shower was in the master as it was dirty.
All I can really say is we overpaid for the accommodations and did not receive what was advertised.
Brian, we're sorry certain aspects of your stay fell short. We're glad to hear the homeowner compensated you for one night at a motel while repairing the AC unit. Since your stay, a new central air unit has been installed and we are sure this issue won't recur. Additionally, the home is now equipped with two routers and a new internet service provider. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance and the issue you experienced was an isolated incident as the cleaning team takes great care to ensure perfection. House very comfortable n clean...very roomy n felt so much like home ..gsrage has lots of space n everything you need is there and owner very easy to contact and help...just did not require anything...will be back again as Sun Lakes pool n facilities are top shelf !!..Doug n Charlotte 😎�👱�♀️
Good location, but many problems
Extra charges to expect: about $25 fee to the HOA to be able to access on-site restaurant and bar, damage protection fee of $250 is NOT a refundable fee, even though it is a home with 2 bdrooms and sleeps 6, occupancy above 2 people is an additional fee. Rental agency, owner, and owner's daughter gave conflicting directions i.e. key location, garbage pickup, leaving instructions. We spent 2 of our vacation days waiting for repair people. The lights went out in a bathroom and the toilet was not working. There were 2 ancient DVD players, but had a note that said the DVD player was not working and "good luck". We bought a new DVD player and left it. The location was good - close to relatives that we wanted to visit, but frustrating to have to deal with so many problems.
Sandra, we're glad you were able to have a pleasant stay overall, but we're sorry to hear about certain issues preventing you from fully enjoying your stay. There is a $250 nonrefundable included on every reservation 21 days or longer. It is charged in lieu of a large security deposit and covers your group for up to $3,000 of incidental damage and eliminates any post-stay discrepancies regarding security deposit returns. There is a $25 fee to the HOA to use the facilities at Cottonwood and we have added this to the listing description so future guests are aware. We apologize for the mix up of the key location and are working to correct this to prevent the scenario you encountered. We understand the toilet was working fine prior to your stay and is functional now. The homeowner wasn't sure what caused the lights to go out, but an electrician went in and fixed it as soon as they could. They informed you that it wasn't necessary for guests to be there while the repairs were being made. The homeowner works hard to ensure all guests who come to visit have the optimal stay! There was no internet no cable and in fact we couldn’t even get the news because no picture at all, the stove was not clean, the knobs on some of the kitchen cabinets had dried food particles on them. The instructions were that we had to strip the beds, put the towels in the washer and vacuum the floors? What was the cleaning deposit for? Can’t recommend this place at all

Very dated, no cable, no internet, no trash disposal. Not worth the money.
