A home from home in beautiful Collioure

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in this area a few times but in our opinion, Collioure is the best place we have stayed along this coast. And this house is the best one we've rented and highly recommended.

It's located in a quiet cul-de-sac with parking right outside. You can walk into town, with its lovely outside cafés, great restaurants, little beaches and interesting shops, in less than 15 minutes. You can drive into town in about 3 minutes but you have to pay for. most parking before 6pm.

The house is on multiple levels. It's modern, clean and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. The bed in the main room is really comfortable. The back garden with its beautiful lemon tree isn't very big, but you can still sit out and eat or read in privacy.

The owners Adam and Tracey are really friendly and answered all questions promptly before, during and after our holiday. The level of customer service couldn't be bettered (and they didn't pay us to write this review).

Due to ill health, we couldn't venture as far as normal. But our favourite place to visit, which you can get to in about 45 minutes, is Aigamolls de L'Emporda nature reserve (near Roses in Spain). Highly recommended if you like walking and wildlife. Nightingales are really easy to see and hear - sometimes they are even in the car park!

Ceret is also a nice town to visit, especially during the annual Cherry festival. Le Racou is a good beach - very peaceful. And if you like vineyards, you could visit a different one each day!

Modern, comfortable, ideal situation

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house, spacious rooms, and a very modern style made us feel at home at once. Beds are really comfortable, a big plus in a holiday home, and we found everything we needed for our stay. The description on the website is very accurate, and it was great to have a separate bathroom and WC as we had two teenagers with us!The house is close to the beaches in Collioure, yet in a very quiet situation. We loved to have breakfast on the terrace and to enjoy some quiet moments outside, sunbathing or just relaxing, which is quiet nice after the crowds in town and on the beaches. Ideal to walk to the town or to leave to visit the surrounding countryside, to have a look at the Dali museum in Figueras and enjoy the small beaches along the coast on the Spanish side.

Five star property in Collioure

  • 5 of 5

I spent a fantastic long weekend in Collioure staying in this property in May and rebooked immediately on my return home for a week in July.

The house is newly refurbished and in excellent condition. It is clean and very well equipped. The garden which provides beautiful views over the red rooftops of Collioure is fantastic - complete with a beautiful lemon tree, it is the perfect place to relax.

The property is situated a few minutes walk from the centre of Collioure. We found it to be a perfect spot - very quiet and peaceful and yet within easy walking distance of the town which is beautiful, lively and a lot of fun.

We hired bikes and cycled to the beach at Argeles most days which is beautiful. There are also town beaches in Collioure which are lovely.

Tracy and Adam, the owners of the property, were extremely helpful and gave us all the information we needed.

Collioure is full of life. It has great restaurants and bars and the setting is fantastic. The surrounding countryside is worth visiting - take a ride on the 'petit train' to see local olive groves and local villages.

I will certainly return to this property and would highly recommend it.

Quiet location, high spec property

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 weeks in the property in August 2010 with our 2 children. It is situated only 10 mins walk from the gorgeous town of Colliuore and is in a lovely quiet cul de sac location. The property has only recently been refurbished and has been done so to a high specification. A true home from home and highly recommended. Fort view at night is breathtaking!.

Bon séjour

  • 3 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Collioure, a small picturesque fishing town on the Roussillon Mediterranean coast, combines the peace and tranquillity of vineyard countryside with a variety of beautiful beaches and a host of bustling shops, galleries, cafés, bars and restaurants in the town which spill down to the waters edge. With its splendid surroundings and rich history, Collioure is a haven of peace coupled with a wide variety of leisure activities set in a welcoming Catalan Mediterranean community. Its landscape is known all over the world and its beauty has inspired great artists such as Matisse and Derain. Painters are still drawn to this magical place to capture the stunning light and ambiance that surrounds the bay with its breathtaking views. Walking, cycling or taking the 'petit train' will lead you to panoramic views amongst the terraced vineyards which dominate the hillsides which surround the port, passing castles, chateaux and ancient hilltop beacons providing stunning views of the coastline.

Other Activities: Wine tasting, art galleries, local markets
