About Mallory R
We purchased this home after years of summering on Orr's Island. The home is very special to the family as it was my grandmother's residence and my parents' home for a number of years. My parents now live nearby and we have chosen to share this lovely spot for others to enjoy.
Mallory R purchased this House in 1958
Why Mallory R chose Orr's Island
The location of this property is ideal for day trips in the midcoast area and has all the great charm an island vacation can provide. Cool ocean breezes keep the climate temperate and the salt ocean air is soothing to the soul.
What makes this House unique
On a summer night enjoy the stars easily visible without all the light pollution that you would experience in a city. Catch some fireflies and watch for deer and turkeys parading around in the moonlight.

This place was cozy, nice, spacious and in great location from beaches, trails, stores and the wedding avenue we attended!! I would stay here again in a heart bit!
Maine Trip Labor Day 2019
We were four adults on a trip to MidCoast of Maine for Labor Day weekend, 2019. Can not say enough good things about Mallory and Joan's rental home. Mallory was excellent with communication prior to and during our stay. She also pointed us to local restaurants and activities. The home is located close to locations west such as Freeport (for LL Bean), Portland and we went east to Pemaquid Lighthouse and Boothbay Harbor. There are tons of good eateries and fun things to do. Home was spotless, comfortable, quiet, and had all needed amenities. We have rented many VRBO's and this one was a home run. Highly recommend the Orr's Island home for a wonderful Maine experience and trip! Especially enjoyed watching the deer on lawn eating apples and lots of wild turkeys too...
Orr’s island Gem.
Beautifully Maintained antique house centrally located on Orr’s island. No water views but very convenient to drive to local attractions. The home is lovely and very comfortable.
Wonderful Location and Home
We enjoyed the close proximity of the home to restaurants while still enjoying the quite and solitude. We saw lots of wildlife and a hiking trail was also close. The house was very clean and well kept.
This was a charming older property that was very well maintained. The location is great as it is an easy drive to Portland or other locations such as Booth Bay Harbor. Be sure to check our the information provided by the host. Their recommendation caused us to take a trip to Reid State Park. It was absolutely beautiful and had sandy beaches that my daughter loved. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here.
I agree that Orr's island is a beautiful place to stay that is very centrally located between Portland and Boothbay! Reid State beach and Popham Beach are both great places to visit, i'm glad you got to experience one of them.
Thanks for being great guests, we would welcome you back anytime!
Mal & Joan
Every year I take a trip to the Harpswell area with my children. This year we stayed in this lovely antique house. It is amazingly well maintained. The yard is massive which was a fun surprise for us. While we spend very little time in the house we rent (visiting the beach instead), this home was a perfect place to rest.
Glad you enjoyed your stay on Maine
Welcome guests to the original Orr house. This lovely cape is one of the oldest houses on the island. Recently updated this house offers three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a den, a large living room, a dining room, a kitchen, laundry facilities and a shed. The house is positioned off route 24 with private parking and is just a few minutes from local beaches/attractions, restaurants and hiking trails. It is ideally located to take advantage of the midcoast area and all it has to offer. Nearby Brunswick provides shopping, groceries, theatre, museums, and bus/train services. It is also the home of Bowdoin College. Freeport and its world class outlet shopping is a 25 minute drive away, and the lovely city of Portland is a 45 minute drive. Two beautiful state park beaches, Popham and Reid State Park, are a quick and easy day trip and should not be missed. Antiquing, light houses and a beautiful botanical garden in Boothbay are also easy day trips from Orr's Island.
