Cute cottage conveniently located with parking

  • 3 of 5

The property is ideally located in the downtown Northwest section of Bend on a nice quiet street.

Everything was clean and well kept, and the owner was extremely responsive and caring.

The only reservation you should know about is that the bathroom is very, very small. It is similar in size to the bathroom on a cruise ship, except the shower is even smaller than that. If you weigh 200 lbs or more, you probably will not fit into the shower. We are smaller than that, and had difficulty showering without your body rubbing up against the shower tile or shower curtain when you are soaping up.

The bathroom is located on the first floor along with the kitchen which has a small island to eat on, and a living room. The bedroom is located upstairs so going to the bathroom in the middle of the night is not very convenient.

The price was very reasonable, if you can live with an ultra small bathroom. There is also a cute private patio in the back of the house that you can dine in or just relax.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay and we loved the Bend area.

Owner's Response: Oh, that shower cost me two stars. I consider that the location, off street parking, rental rate, deer, birds and hospitality will compensate for the small shower. I weigh 160 and can shower well within the confines of the shower walls. A number of male guests who are two hundred pounds have used the shower. The shower is small, but it is clean and functional. These guests,Mary and her spouse, were fabulous guests, by the way.

One of our best vacations

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent over a week at this location in Bend, OR. The property was clean and well-maintained. It was wonderful having access to a fully functional kitchen and being able to spread out in this two-story single bedroom apartment. The location and our friendly, helpful but nonintrusive host made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Though the shower is very small and the bed is close to needing a new mattress, the location can't be beat! Quiet and located in a beautiful neighborhood where many neighbors have lush and gorgeous gardens, we spend much of our time outside. We walked into town every evening along Bend's beautiful Deschutes River and though we promised ourselves to visit a wider range of local breweries on our next visit, we found ourselves returning to Bend Brewing Co every evening to partake in their wide range of darker porters and ales. Though we did not sample the food, it looked very good and we will eat their on our next visit. We do recommend The Wild Rose Northern Thai, try the specials advertised on their blackboard, super yummy and the price is reasonable.

This location is quiet, easy to access, and is close to Bend's downtown and Westside neighborhoods that are teaming with great restaurants, coffee shops, brewing companies, outdoor rental companies, etc. If you enjoy walking you can easily follow multiple trails along the river which were always beautiful regardless of time of day. Early morning and evening hours were highlights for great birding (we saw a kingfisher and osprey diving for their dinner) and many locals were taking advantage of the multiple swimming holes and launching points that were along the shore by the walking bridge which connected the west side to the trail leading into down town. With the exception of a very tight shower space, this is the perfect location for those who are looking to visit the Real Bend. We look forward to staying at this location next summer.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review! I appreciate the "heads up" on the mattress. Is actually fairly new, but may have more wear than I realized. Looking forward to your next visit. You were the dream tenants! Fondly, K

Two More Happy Guests !!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a month at this charming property and already miss it!! We call ourselves "guests" because that is how we were treated by the owner, Kaytie. We were in town to look in on my 92 year old Mom, but loved coming "home" to this cottage every evening and occasionally saw Kaytie who assured we were comfortable during our stay. The property is perfectly located within walking distance of downtown, or hiking trails along the river. Full sized kitchen . . .cozy reading/TV watching area, loft sleeping area . . . all kept warm by a gas-log fireplace. We loved it here and plan to come back for another escape !!

Two very satisfied customers

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 3 weeks in this tranquil setting. Yes we too got to see the deer eating in the front yard, and so many birds in the trees it was nice. The location was perfect for us, our son's home was only 4 blocks away, there were hiking trails 3 blocks away where you could either walk along side the river or take the bridge across to walk the other side. After crossing the bridge if you turn to the right you could walk to down town. The more popular way to get to town is to go to Mirror Pond bridge which is a shorter route from the house. Our 1st two weeks there we didn't have a car nor need one. When we decided to do a little road trip we picked a car up. The owner has parking are right outside the door for us, so that was convient. The duplex was a perfect size for us, it was neat, clean and had everything we needed. We were there in August and we found that with the windows open and a fan in the hall way window we didn't need to use the bedroom air conditioner. The bed was comfortable. As stated by others the bathroom was cozy, it servers it purpose, and does well for someone that is not oversized. The owner is kind, friendly and very accommadating. We try to go out to Bend every year for 3 or 4 weeks, if the duplex is available when we go back we will rent it.

Two Happy Atheletes

  • 5 of 5

My best college friend and I attended The Bend Endurance Academy for two wonderful months. We are Minnesotans who enjoyed the fact the the owner of the duplex is also a Minnesotan. This space was perfect, for us active gals, in every way. Super convenient location, quiet, pretty setting with lots of birds and even deer and a squirrel or three. The parking was off the street and only several feet from the front door. The owner was friendly, helpful and very accessible. The cute back patio was great for entertaining several new found friends and we barbecued on several occassions. The window air conditioning, in the upstairs bed room, was totally adequate for the summer hot days. Nice painting and art work make this place very pleasant and cozy. The one and only downside to our accommodations was the small bathroom and shower. Other than that small distraction, the kitchen, living area and bedroom were very comfy.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5

In a nutshell: this cozy duplex was absolutely delightful, quiet, clean, darling and extremely convenient in regard to it's location. This was a great value for the money! Deer and birds were abundant. The property is off the street with convenient parking next to the front door. I would describe the interior as cozy and comfortable. The owner is reliable and available. She was very friendly and helpful. The front entrance is a common entrance for both duplexes, yet we felt that we had quiet and privacy. We highly recommend this stay for a quiet, responsible single or twosome.
