The great room (living/dining/kitchen) is big and bright and opens to the private backyard oasis. The large yard has multiple areas to relax into – swim laps or float in the very large swimming pool, lounge in the cabana, practice your putts on the grass circles, or relax around the fire pit. A deep covered patio runs the length of the house and provides ample room for outdoor BBQing, dining and relaxing, and shade from the sun all day. Fruit bearing trees produce abundant oranges, grapefruits and lemons!
Bonus for you – the mature landscaping offers privacy for those interested in skinny-dipping or sunbathing 'au naturale.'
This architecturally significant 1958 Alexander mid-century modern home, designed by famous architects Palmer & Krisel, is located in the wind free heart of central Palm Springs, and is a short walk or a bike ride away from everything quintessentially Palm Springs: the historic downtown walking area, restaurants, shows, casinos, night clubs, movies, Tram, hiking, tennis, golf, spa services, mineral baths, gyms, running, biking, or just walking through the retro mid-century modern streets filled with the residential architecture of the iconic master builders: Alexander, Meiselman, and Weller.
Our home is set in a very quiet neighborhood thus we are seeking respectful and conscientious guests who are searching for a quiet, relaxing and comfortable vacation. Due to Palm Springs strict noise ordinance (PSMC Ch. 5.25), this is not an ideal rental if your group plans to party hard. In your inquiry, please provide information on who will be staying in our home and reason for your visit. Please note that the maximum overnight guest count can’t exceed six (6).

We live in Seattle on a floating home. We've been vacationing in Palm Springs for many years. We love modern architecture and chose to buy a 2nd home in Palm Springs. We wanted to live the classic Palm Springs lifestyle, and this home is everything classic a mid-century modern purist can appreciate.

Alexander Construction built the first tract homes in Palm Springs and this home is everything Palm Springs. As lovers of mid-century modern, Alexander was the only choice for us.
This true classic Palm Springs architecture, was designed by the famous architectural team of Palmer/Krisel. Alexander Construction built tract homes that were designed to bring the outdoors in. The large lot has amazing views of the San Jacinto mountains, has a classic 12' deep swimming pool, cabana and fire pit. It is a playground!
We stayed in the Enchanted Alexander for the month of March and it exceeded our expectations. The owners did a remarkable job of decorating and furnishing the house in the classic mid-century style.
Our daughter and two grandchildren came over from Arizona and spent a week with us during their spring break. It was a perfect place for a family get-together. The kitchen, dining room and living room are great for entertaining and enjoying the view of the pool and beautifully landscaped back yard. The pool is a very good size with a very deep end (probably had a diving board at one time). We had three sets of friends from Portland who were in Palm Springs at the time and we entertained all of them at the house. It is perfect for adult entertaining.
The neighborhood is very quiet and only about a mile east of downtown. We rode our bikes around the neighborhood almost every day and felt very safe as there is little traffic.
We both had to work remotely from there and the house is set up very well for that. We used the large dining room table for a desk. The house has excellent wifi and has a wireless printer/copier/scanner.
Greg, the local caretaker, comes by twice a week to clean the pool and take care of any maintenance issue that arises. He is very courteous and responsive. The landscaping crew keeps the place looking top notch. And Jessica, the owner, was in Palm Springs at the time and was very gracious by being there when we arrived and acquainting us with all the features of the house.
And finally, as others who have stayed there have commented on, the beds are amazing!
I only have one tiny negative comment...the master needs a KING size bed! Everything else was perfect!! I will come back again for sure.
This property completely lived up to its advertisement. The pictures on the website could have been taken the day before we arrived. Besides the great layout and fantastic decor, everything (really) we could possibly need was there. Jessica was easy to work with during the reservation phase and check in through check out. She was also very very responsive to any questions during our stay. The location is close to airport but we only noticed air traffic once or twice while there - it was not a problem for us. Proximity to downtown, groceries, and other services was convenient. We would recommend this property to any of our friends and family and would definitely love to return some day.
Loved the easy, inviting flow between the inside -outside spaces.
Loved the minimal desert architecture with tasteful splashes of colours accenting the white ground of the rooms.
The larger and also more intimate outdoor spaces continually draw you outside both day and night
Picking our grapefruit, oranges and lemons direct from our own trees to make juices in the morning was a exciting first for this Snowbird.
The location was perfect walking distance to downtown and local spots. House was exactly as advertised. Very clean and well laid out. We cooked a lot at the house and were grateful for the spices and oils. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an easy care, delightful setting in Palm Springs.
What a lovely, gorgeously maintained home this is, with great style throughout, a very comfortable and private back yard, and beautiful landscaping. Not sure there's a better location in Palm Springs for easy access to downtown, airport, and main roads out of town. We were a party of two and had more than enough room -- I can easily picture a group of three couples staying here and all having plenty of space to hang. Kitchen is more than adequate, and the view of the mountain is ace. Excellent choice for a relaxing, chill Palm Springs vacation.
We just returned from staying a week at this lovely property! I stayed with my husband, two young sons (9 months and 3) and my mother.
First of all it was as if we were staying in the home of a family friend but that the owners were professional hosts! There is everything you could possibly need here for a vacation rental. The linens and towels are high quality, the home is spotless, the kitchen is full stocked with high quality supplies, and there are full sets of everything. The detail and care that has gone into making this home comfortable is incredible. The bathrooms are fully stocked with large shower supplies and small touches like hooks everywhere, luggage racks and closet organizers keep everything neat for a week long stay. The pictures do not even do the decor justice! The owners have taken time to make it feel like a home not just a staged rental with Ikea furnishings. It is nicely decorated but not so delicate that it is not child friendly. We rented cribs from a local company so that helped my children sleep well while we were there. The property manager happily met the company "Babys Away" so the cribs were all set up before we even arrived.
The yard is just perfect and peaceful. We loved the citrus trees and heated pool. My 3 year old loved playing on the stairs and had no problem only going out in the back when we were present. The grass patches are real grass so he loved playing on there too.
If you like to cook on vacation, this kitchen and BBQ are a dream. Everything is gas (even the BBQ is hooked up to gas) so everything I cooked turned out perfectly. The kitchen is STOCKED with spices, balsamic, EVOO, salt and pepper grinders-all the basics you would need and usually would have to buy. The kitchen even had tin foil, plastic wrap and plastic bags to store leftovers. The knives are sharp and nice quality, and the cookware is great and in good shape. Like I said it was like staying at a friends that trusted you with their vacation property.
We had a car but you wouldn't absolutely need one. The Ralph's has everything you need and downtown is really close. Trader Joes is a 10 minute drive and Ruth Hardy park is about 2 miles. I brought our running stroller and ran the kids over there almost everyday. It is located 2 minutes from the airport but we never even noticed any flight noise. Great walking neighborhood!

Great location and neighborhood, well maintained classic Alexander home. We walked from the airport and arrived feeling like we were at our own home. Everything was as expected and worked well. Easy inexpensive Uber rides in to downtown Palm Springs. Would definately stay here again.
