About Grand Solmar
Beatrice is a retired 5th and 6th grade school teacher and Junior-High counselor with 35 years of service and Richard in an entrepreneur of 25 years and most recently a published author and proprietor of a popular blog. Bea grew up in the Bay Area of California and Richard, in Reno, Nevada. Bea always wanted to teach and Richard, to be a Navy Officer, so after the education was out of the way, that what we both did with our lives. Bea has enjoyed almost every day of it and Richard will never forget living in Japan for 5 years and then in France for two, on an exchange tour with the French Navy. A few years ago a friend told us about his experience renting his vacation home in Napa out as a vacation rental. Since we had a vacation home in the California Gold County, we decided to give it a try since we only used it a few weeks per year and the experience taught us that we really enjoy the vacation rental experience. So come enjoy the property we hand picked to share with people from around the world.
Grand Solmar purchased this Resort in 2012
Why Grand Solmar chose Cabo San Lucas
We've been to Mexico a number times and have enjoyed each stay tremendously. The weather is fantastic, the food sublime, and the people friendly and helpful. We'd spoken many times of purchasing a property for our own use but once we got involved in renting our own vacation rental it became a reality. Cabo and this newest property was the perfect fit.
What makes this Resort unique
As world travelers and one of us having lived abroad for a number of years, this is one of the best and coolest resort & spa properties ever seen. The award winning design is tropical, yet modern and graceful. It has old world Mexican décor with wood carved furnishings, wrought iron and stone finishes. The cactus gardens and tropical landscape is impeccable.
Smoking is allowed in designated areas on the resort grounds, but not in rooms.

Grand Solamar, Cabo San Lucas- A Winner
Our entree to Cabo was through this seller who bent over backwards to accommodate and answer all of my questions. Very easy to deal with, providing timelines of when I would hear from him and what the next steps were. I look forward to renting from this seller again.
As for the resort? It was spectacular, the rooms were very spacious and elegant with high end linens and pillows, meticulously clean. Every room has an outstanding balcony and faces the water. As wonderful as this resort is, the staff and service were even more remarkable. .... professional yet warm, personable and accessible..... always checking in and making sure your needs are met. (A special thank you to Jorge, Jose and Elizabeth). The security was top notch and there were no vendors pushing wears.
The resort is very private with so many wonderful nooks (both in the pools and on the property ) and the many infinity pools were beautiful. We never had to struggle for a chair or umbrella. FYI, the beaches are unswimmable due to the rip tide currents.
As for the food (we are cooks and have high expectations).. We had booked reservations at other restaurants prior to arrival after reading lots of reviews. The first night we ate at the GS resort. It was pretty good. We went to the Pedregal the second night and were a tad disappointed and liked the views and environment at GS better, so we bought a 3 day meal plan, ate too much then chose to pay for meals al a carte so we could still fit into our clothes when we went home:) and ate only at the resort which worked really well. Many restaurants to choose from, most nights with highly curated musicians.
Thank you GS staff ...you are ALL great! We will be back...
The Grand Solmar property is the newest and best 5-Star Resort in Cabo San Lucas, a short walk, taxi or shuttle to all the nightlife, the marina and all the other attractions Cabo has to offer.
For the more nature oriented, there's the private beach, other public beaches, and all the water activities common for the Baja region including whale watching and deep sea fishing.
The weather is superb year round, an arid climate that doesn't get much rain. Most days throughout the entire year are sunny and in the 80s.
