Gorgeous Retreat in the Heart of Trastevere

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four was privileged to stay in 'Bella Trastevere' for two weeks. The apartment is bright, spacious, and completely modernized, yet located in a building from the 1600's with original frescos. All the listed amenities were present and in perfect working order. The apartment was spotlessly maintained and beautifully appointed. Our family is tall -- all of us 6 feet or more - and we were quite comfortable in the beds and living spaces.

The location could not have been more ideal. Not only was it within walking distance of the most important sites in Rome (including both the Vatican and Piazza Navona), but the neighborhood was filled with numerous wonderful restaurants, shops, and the bustling vibrancy of the Trastevere district. For those needing a taxi, there is a taxi stand about 1 1/2 blocks away. The apartment itself is located in a quiet street, and it was glorious to awaken to the sounds of church bells every morning.

Piero and Franca were gracious and attentive hosts at all times, and we greatly appreciated their arranging car service to and from the airport for us.

We found the people in Trastevere very friendly, helpful, and kind, and most patient with our limited Italian. Piero provided us with a preliminary list of places to eat, though after two weeks, we had also discovered several of our own favorites. For breakfast/early lunch: Sicilia e Duci; for lunch/pizza: L'Archetto and Carlo Menta; for lunch/dinner: Ristorante Pizzeria Popi-Popi, De Augustana, and Ai Bozzi.

Would we recommend 'Bella Trastevere'? With twelve enthusiastic thumbs up!!! We loved our stay, will definitely stay there again if our travel plans bring us back to Rome.

To Piero and Franca, Mille Grazie!!

Great location and very secure building!

  • 5 of 5

In heart of Trastevere, this is a great location and easy access to Vatican, Forum, Coliseum. Take the bus system or rail service, both only steps away and daily passes are $1.50 EU for 100 minute of travel. There are some local restaurants within the district that are reasonably priced and service is amazing! Host Pietro is fantastic, very welcoming and accommodating, he set up private transportation to the airport for us at 5 am on a Sunday morning.

Perfect location, lovely accommodations

  • 4 of 5

WE had a lovely time in Trastevere. This property is very well kept, pretty, in a stellar location. Less than a block from Viale Trastevere and the Pza. Sonnino, with multiple connections to public transit. Within a 5 minute walk of S. Cecelia, S. Maria in Trastevere, the river, fish market, dozens of restaurants of all ranges, maybe two minutes more from a Target-style department store with a grocery, etc. It's quiet, safe, comfortable, sunny. Only drawback is no real place to feed more than 2 people. The big "bedroom" is really a long, open room with a three single beds in it, leaving no room for a dinner table. Kitchen was fine, caretaker (Piero) was friendly, fluent-ish in English, and lives next door. Great value for the price.

Wonderful stay at Bella Trastevere!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this charming apartment for 6 nights and loved it! It was exactly as advertised and our family was very comfortable. The property is in a great location, but on a street that is set back away from the busier and noisy Via di Trastevere, so it is pretty quiet. There is some remodeling being done on the next floor down, so there was some construction noise in the morning and during the day, but otherwise it was very peaceful. The kitchen is small but well equipped, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are modern, and there are lots of windows so it's bright and cheerful. Overall very nice place to call home for a week in Roma! Piero was very professional to work with as well. We would stay there again!

Lovely apartment, great area

  • 5 of 5

We had four fabulous days in Rome staying in this apartment. Piero was a great host - very friendly and helpful even when our flight was delayed and we arrived really late.

The apartment was clean and spacious and really well situated - we were able to walk to all the main tourist areas of the city - and there is a tram outside. There are bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket all close by and a taxi rank around the corner, yet the apartment was quiet and we slept well. We would definitely go back.

Great apartment in a good area for walking to all the major sightseeing spots in Rome.

Great apartment with all the amenities we needed. We were able to walk to the attractions we wanted to see. Great restaurants nearby with good suggestions from Mr. Piero. There are lots of steps to climb to the apartment!
