Tina apartment is ideal for people that want to be in the heart of Athens and feel comfortable with the area. It is a spacious apartment close to lots of cafes, restaurants and shops. Pangrati is one of the 73 municipalities in Athens, and considered part of Athens' eastern suburban area. It is served very well by public transport and is a lively part of central Athens. Pangrati’s green park, squares and café-lined streets impart a village-like quality to this urban neighbourhood, which is within walking distance of the city centre. Near Tina flat are 2 supermarkets and numerous other shops such as bakeries, fruit & veg shops, pharmacies, take-away. If you are in Greece for more than a few days, we recommend you checking out one of the local fresh fruit and vegetable markets known as Laiki. There is one every Friday morning in the Mets section of Pangrati.

Very nice appartment for couples
My girlfriend and I had a great time in Athens and the appartment really helped.
Welcome was very nice to start with. And then we had everything we wanted in the appartment. It was not luxurious but it was spacious, clean, with everthing to cook and eat and even a balcony where we had breakfast and sometimes dinner. Very pleasant! Also in a quiet and safe area so no problem to sleep and to come back at night.
Shops and buses were 5 minutes away, and even the centre with the akropolis and other touristic places were no more than 30-40 minutes walk, which was very good to do in the great Greek weather.
So we had a wonderful time, and the owners were very friendly. I recommend this appartment to anyone and especially couples. We will surely come back if we get the chance :-)
Great neighborhood, great walking!
This is a perfect location to see the sights of Athens. Within walking distance of Syntagma Square, the Acropolis, the Agora and numerous antiquities, stores, bakeries and restaurants in between! And because it is a little away from central Athens, it feels safe and is relatively quiet. We used the metro to travel to and from the airport and the port. Otherwise, we walked everywhere we wanted to go! And, when a few demonstrations took place on November 17th, the apartment was far enough removed that we couldn't even tell that something had happened!
Eleni's mom welcomed us and gave us a tour of the apartment and pointed out the grocery store just a couple of blocks away (it has a bakery next door!!). The apartment itself has a microwave, mini-dishwasher, counter-top stove/oven, clothes washer/dryer. Plenty of linens and not a speck of dust!
SEE ATHENS FROM PANGRATI
We had not been to Greece before and did not know the language, though we learnt basic words. People were so friendly and helpful in Athens, not jjust the family renting us the flat, often approaching us to offer help without prompting. A few showed that they were literally willing to go out of their way to help us without any selfish motive . We have spent and enjoyed time in a number of other countries over some decades and indeed visited Italy and France during the same holiday so we can readily compare the hospitality we received with other experiences. We felt great sympathy for the turmoil now afflicting Greece and learnt from some of our contacts there how tough things are for them, but they showed no resentment towards us coming from a more favoured country.
It was a lovely flat with plenty of room for the two of us and for our daughter when she joined us. The bedrooms are at the back so it was quiet at night and at the front you can sit on the balcony if and when you wish, looking out onto the street.
We liked Pangrati itself, a busy neighbourhood with plenty of small shops to buy food and a number of bars and restaurants.
We especially enjoyed going to the local bakery on Alketou opposite a basketball court. From the front door of the apartment block turn left, first left and first right. The manager speaks good English and French and their cheese and spinach slices are fabulous. The shop is also close to a bus/ "trolley" stop which you can use to go into the city centre, getting off just before Syndagma Square. We also walked to and from the centre in thirty minutes or so.
We went on a number of occasions to one small restaurant/ takeaway whose name translates as "The lazy boy and his friends" we were told.
It is on Imitou; outside the building turn left(as above) but walk along Pyrou crossing over Damareos and goi to the juction with Imitou. Cross the road, turn right and walk some yards along. This place has a few tables between the street railings and the restaurant/ cafe itself. Their Greek salad is a treat and we mostly had pork or chicken with it.The street is very busy but stimulating.
Athens has plenty of sites and allow several hours for the Acropolis as the whole area is worth pottering around in.
There are two monastaries on the outside of the city.We got to one using a bus route followed by an hour walking uphill, but it is worthwhile.
We will remember the kindness of the people as much as the magical setting.
Lovely Apartment in Residential Area of Athens.
Myself and my husband, along with our two teenagers aged 17 and 13 stayed at this apartment for two weeks in August 2011.
The accommodation is spacious, clean and ideally located for those wanting to explore Athens on foot or on public transport.
The local shops and market are ideal for self catering, whilst the local restaurants and bars are friendly; both offer good value for money being out of the more expensive tourist trap areas.
We had a fantastic time and would heartily recommend this flat and area to anyone considering a holiday in this beautiful and historic city.
First time to Athens
Nice, clean flat in comfortable neighborhood outside of the tourist hustle and bustle, but close enough to quickly get to the sites. Everything we needed was within walking distance. Great experience for all of us, especially our teenage daughter.
Eleni was wonderful! She worked with us to make our stay fun and as stress-free as possible. (A special thank you to her mum, who met us at the flat and put up with our non-existent Greek language abilities!)
Tip: The 2, 4 and 11 buses will all get you to and from the flat and many of the sites.
Excellent, spacious flat in lovely Pangrati neighbourhood. Very clean and well equipped - but a washing line and basket would be useful for hanging up clothes ! Lots of restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, shops etc. within 5 minutes. This is a lovely part of Athens, and very quiet during the week - more lively at the weekends ! Trolley buses within 5 minutes both ways - and it's easy to walk into Syntagma if you want the exercise. The tram to Glyfada is a 15min walk too. Once or twice our lively toddler struggled to adhere to the neighbours' siestas and bed time routines so noise from inside the flat can be an issue ! Ample space for 4 people. Perfect flat for anybody who wants to explore beautiful Athens. A nice place all round. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
The Tina flat is located in a very pleasant residential area of central Athens called Pagrati. The area is full of lively cafes and shops and many of the major sites can be visited on foot. Syntagma Square is about 2 km away, where every hour of the day the changing of the guard ceremony is performed by the Presidential Guard in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier between the square and parliament. Kallimarmaro Stadium where the Olympic games of 1896 took place is only a 10 minute walk. The National Garden is a 15' walk, a tropical paradise in the heart of Athens. Finally, the Acropolis with its brand new museum is 2.5 km away.
In addition, Pangrati is served very well by public transport. Buses and trams pass very often and the Metro station is 15- 20 minute walk or 5 minutes by taxi, with connections to the airport.
Also, a local fresh fruit and vegetable market takes place every Friday morning in the Mets section of Pagrati.
