James Matthews House c. 1790 is located in the northwest Germantown section of Philadelphia. Historic Germantown is where one of Philadelphia's Revolutionary War Battles was fought; where the first-ever American protest against slavery was written; an where one of the few remaining houses on the Underground Railroad still stands. We are neighbors of Germantown Friends School and Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. LaSalle University, Philadelphia University and Drexel School of Medicine are near by along with entrepreneurial energetic restaurants and businesses.
