About sheryl

We live in Boulder Creek, Ca. Making the drive through Island Park to Bozeman Mt. to see our kids, we became enchanted with the mixture of tall pines and beautiful meadows. We bought this place to give us a chance to spend time with our kids and be close to the things we love to do.

sheryl purchased this house in 2017

Why sheryl chose Island Park

This property is quiet and a little ways off of the busy main road. It is secluded with elk, deer and moose wandering through. Wooded but with beautiful wildflower meadows that show off in the spring and summer. Stunning view of the Centennial Mts. Also Yellowstone Park is just over half hour drive!!

What makes this house unique

ATV / Snowmobile trails surround the area. Yellowstone is 40 minutes drive.. World class fly fishing at Henry's Fork nearby and Horseback riding just down the road. And skiing at Big Sky or Grand Targhee are only 90 minutes drive

One of our favorite cabins in Island Park

  • 5 of 5

We’ve been visiting Island Park for the past 8 years or so and have stayed at different cabins each time. This cabin was truly one of our favorites. We loved the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as the multiple areas to gather and hangout. The kitchen was large and well-stocked. The community was easy to find and well maintained. We will absolutely be staying here in future years!

Almost brand new log cabin, comfortable for a big group of 25, responsive host!

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 8 families (16 adults, 10 children) stayed for 7 nights to visit Yellowstone. From the cabin to West Entrance is 45 min driving, another 15 min to Madison Junction. So It will cost 2 hours of your day but in our opinion, we made an excellent choice to stay in the log cabin. Toiletries were adequate. Kitchen utensils were OK but more pots/pan with lids would be appreciated. All appliances worked. The log is in a remote place and we enjoyed that. It will take some driving to West Yellowstone town for groceries and supplies (45 min) but it you are heading there any day, this is convenient. The front balcony is to die for as you see in the picture, we hanged out there a lot. Please plan your BBQ because the gas grill outside is ready to go. Originally we wanted to do charcoal BBQ but we always came home late from Yellowstone, so charcoal did not work for us. For a big group, we would prefer to have another fridge for more storage but it is OK if you plan your meal accordingly. The host, Sheryl, was very quick in responding to our questions and we appreciated her. We tried to leave the log cabin in a good shape, just like when we walked in the first day. Overall, our group had a great time at the log cabin and if you want to visit Yellowstone, put this cabin on your list.

bad stay

  • 1 of 5

Thumbs down. Plugged sewer, dirty, wet carpet, driveway not plowed, had hard time getting in and out. Ruined 2 new tires trying to get snowmobile trailer out (that cost 500 dollars ). Owners stayed in cabin across parking lot. Spent time getting trucks and trailer in stuck. Owner's told different things on drive way snow plowing. Felt lied to about the cabin and snow removal.

Owner's Response: Richard, again I apologize for the plumbing backup. I had an emergency plumber out to the cabin as quickly as possible. The cabin is now getting an upgraded tile basement floor and mudroom wall for taking off and storing mud and snow clothes I have now changed plowing companies and have had great feedback from the most recent guests. Unfortunately while you were there the storm dumped an extra 18" of snow which while great for snowmobiling didn't help in the day of your departure. I wish you the best of luck with the next cabin you rent

Location

Island Park Reservoir is close by with public access at Mill CreekCampground or Buttermilk Campground, and McCrea Bridge day use. All 7-15 minutes drive. A day floating on the lake or fishing is always a good day.

ATV rentals and trails are nearby also. Horseback riding is a few miles down the road too!
