About the property

Start your day with a cup of coffee from the sun-porch for a ring-side seat to the parade of Dolphins, Manatees, and the resident Blue Heron in this delightful canal front condo. Watch the kayakers and paddle boarders glide by. Barbeque and dine at the canal-side patio, splash in the pool, or take a short, two-block walk to Treasure Island's widest beach on the Gulf of Mexico.

Other fun? Loads of bars, bistros, boat rentals, bike rentals, and shops are walking distance along Gulf Boulevard. Our favorite for a feel of spring break (literally for all ages) is Caddy's, a mile south. Enjoy this beach front, open air bistro inside, or out on the sand. Want a walk-around venue? John's Pass is a mile to the north. It's at a gulf/intercoastal connection…offers a number of restaurants, shops, and just plain fun stuff….wonderful water views.

Tired at the end of the day? Relax with a glass of wine and watch the canal activities from the sunporch.

Inside fun? Three smart TV's with 50-60 "regular" channels plus open Netflix. Plenty of board games, cards, puzzles and books at book-shelf central for a quieter time. Or, have a little unfinished business? There's a work station with printer and charging cables for your phones, i-pads, and such.

Renovations started (see pics), more to follow in the fall, but it's ready to go for the rest of the summer.

(Saturday to Saturday only in March)

Beautiful Place/Beautiful spot

  • 5 of 5

The condo exceeded expectations and offered more than expected with fishing rod, (we also bought and left one there so now there are two), adequate bedrooms/bathrooms for two couples, excellent view, and quiet area close (two blocks) to beach. We would recommend this place and stay there again!!

Comfortable and good value

  • 4 of 5

We were two, booking at the last minute so we did not have a lot to choose from within our budget. However, we lucked out with this conveniently situated second floor condo, overlooking the canal and just a short walk to the beautiful beach. The unit is very well furnished and the owners have gone to great lengths to ensure as many conveniences are provided - oodles of towels (including beach towels), dishes, glasses, kitchen utensils, board games, books, etc., etc.). Most important is that the unit is clean.

A couple of thoughts that could make this home away from home even more appealing would be a different mattress on the king bed (seemed to sag in the middle), updated bathrooms, and at least one non-stick frying pan.

The convenience of this location cannot be stressed enough...while not directly on the beach or even having views of the Gulf, you are close enough....just join the others who walk to the beach to enjoy the sunsets. Or load up the beach buggy (provided) to spend the day on the beach. The condo is within walking distance of many places to enjoy on the main thoroughfare including Middle Grounds, Waffle House, John’s Pass, and Ricky T’s.

This property is managed by Sandcastle Realty and could not have been easier to deal with.

A Very Peaceful Stay at this Canal Property

  • 4 of 5

Starting with the very positive aspects of this space... the canal was peaceful and beautiful in the morning while I enjoyed my coffee on the community dock. Each morning, I was greeted by a dolphin and a manatee. Wake up early for this experience... take a nap later. This property is still under renovation (moldings missing in the hallway and dated bathrooms and kitchen), but this place will be really nice once completed I am certain (thus the reduction of one star). The furnishings, completed painting, and the board and batten features were very nice and is representative of the potential this property holds. The unit was very clean, spacious, and comfortable for our group of four. The pool was sparkling... absolutely the clearest, cleanest, community pool I have ever seen (no exaggeration). Unfortunately, due to very restrictive hours for use, the pool is considered closed at dusk. I mention this because I know that many parents use the after dark time frames for swimming to avoid sun exposure. The walk to the beach was maybe two blocks and that brings you directly to a cross walk with public access. We always bring a beach wagon for carrying gear, I highly recommend this given the unexpectedly wide beach (I think it was further from the road to the water than it was to walk from the unit to the sand). I think it goes without saying, do not miss a beach sunset while you are here. They are simply breathtaking. I would definitely rent this location again, but would look forward to bath and kitchen renovations to make it a perfect stay.
