About Property Manager
My name is Laura Lin. I manage Oaks Village properties for my parents. I grew up in Lynchburg but moved away when I married in 1978. My husband, David, and i recently returned to the Lynchburg area to live out our retirement years.
Why Property Manager chose Lynchburg
This is a great little house! It is probably best suited for a couple, but there is a very comfortable sleep sofa. The house sleeps four comfortably. The private drive allows you to keep your car out of parking lots and streets. The neighborhood is very quiet and the property behind the Bungalow is part of our family farm. Why stay at a hotel and deal with Wards Road when you can relax at one of our properties.
What makes this House unique

The BEST place to stay for LU Parents!
I hesitate to recommend this little gem for fear that getting my reservations will become that much harder!! So with a heavy heart and much trepidation, I do highly recommend this house as my favorite place to stay in Lynchburg! My kids both attend Liberty University, and this is a perfect retreat for visits and in the yearly comings and goings. The house is an old, turn-of-the-century home with beautiful original baseboards, old doors, and likely the original hardwood floors – and yet fully restored and appointed in a lovely country cottage style. The light, bright kitchen is as large as the den and fully stocked with everything you need from dishwasher to full oven, microwave, and fridge, and the house is warm and comfortable in both decor and design. There is a full size desk and fast internet which is such a great asset! The backyard looks out upon what can only be described as Mister McGregor’s garden with the mountains in the distance, and the front porch offers an enjoyable place to drink a cup of coffee and enjoy the flowers out front. The house is quite literally less than ten minutes from LU. (I can usually pick up my kids in about 8 minutes by taking Wards Ferry to Harvard Street.) Also by using Wards Ferry Road and the many side streets, you can easily access Target, Walmart, and the many restaurants without ever facing all the traffic on 29/Wards Road. This is quite the little gem! If you do stay here - please, please, don't tell anyone. It should stay our little secret!
Thank you Stacey! I always enjoy hearing from you and look forward to hosting you and your family many times in the next four years!
The cottage was everything we hoped for. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We would come here again.

The Perfect Romantic Retreat
In a word, this cottage is charming. The spacious, light, bright kitchen has a romantic table for two and everything you need to cook at home or to just enjoy that morning cup of coffee. The kitchen windows open onto a country landscape that settles the soul. The den offers a full-sized desk for my husband to catch up on work (or, eh-hem, Fantasy Football draft), and he really appreciated the fast internet. In the den, I loved the warm, comfortable couch and beautiful curtains. The bedroom is decorated in rich, mahogany furniture with a beautiful comforter and pillows. The bathroom is filled with thick, warm towels. The owner has an amazing eye for design and color throughout that will make you simultaneously right at home and away from it all. This was the perfect get away, old fashioned in structure with the original hardwood floors and old, thick molding and yet beautifully and warmly appointed in all the small details. This beats a hotel any day! We had a fabulous time in Lynchburg! We took a photo by the LOVE sign in downtown Lynchburg and walked the trails over the James River. You can also rent bicycles for the paved paths instead of walking! We enjoyed lunch at Waterstone Pizza and dinner at RA Bistro – both are fantastic! We toured the Old City Cemetery and visited the museum and the historical buildings. This was really fascinating! I loved the old Pest House - Can you imagine being a doctor during this time? One day, we walked through the Community Market, where the parking is free and there is so much to see inside. Don’t miss going to the White Hart Café across the street where it is easy to pretend that you are stepping back in time into a turn-of-the-century tavern. The coffee is great, and the folks are friendly. I’m so glad we walked through Baily Spencer Hardware a couple doors down. This building used to be an old church, and you get that sense when you walk up the stairs in the back to the second floor. Monsters Inc. anyone? Then creep up the back staircase to the darkened 3rd floor… if you dare! Up in the attic is a friendly old man who still creates stained glass windows by hand. His store is filled with odds and ends like stained glass sun catchers, old maps, and pages from old Bibles. You can admire the latest projects he is creating. Then we walked down the block and peeked in the windows at the old cars on the corner. I can't wait to come back to this historical area and to this CHARMING cottage!
Stacey, thanks for your lovely review! I am so glad that you enjoy your stays with us and we look forward to your next visit!
Great stay at the Bungalow!
I highly recommend this little gem of a place. Very clean, super quiet neighborhood, comfortable bed and bedding, truly everything one wants in a home away from home! Love the hardwood floors and the solid wood doors! Convenient to anything we wanted to do, and really close to Liberty. I bet this little home stays booked :)
This property was exactly what we needed and was so charming! Laura was easy to work with and was prompt with questions that we had during our stay. It was much more comfortable than a hotel room and was close to downtown and the mall. We hope to stay here again in the future.
A breath of fresh air!
We really enjoyed the country feel of this little cabin and its surroundings. Everything was clean and neat as a pin. There was even coffee in the cabinet for the morning. The beds were comfortable, including the blow up mattress on the sleeper sofa. There was plenty of extra room in the bedroom for the twin air mattress we had brought along for our toddler. Clean up instructions were easy and quick. Thanks to the owners for making this spot feel welcoming and peaceful.
