About the property

Spacious three bedroom detached house in park-like setting by the River Arrow

Built on the site of the former village bowling green, this architect-designed house is set in mature gardens next to a small medieval mound called Monks Court, a scheduled ancient monument on the banks of the River. Peacefully located down a private drive Arrow Green has three double bedrooms (one with twin beds) and a modern bathroom on the first floor. The ground floor consists of double height entrance hall with cloakroom/WC, leading into an L-shaped dining/living room with open fireplace and French windows onto a paved terrace and the lawn. The fully equipped kitchen has an Aga ( available on request) with walk-in pantry and a glass utility room off. There is also an additional study/sitting room overlooking the garden on the ground floor. Ample parking for four cars to the front and a large lawn (croquet available) with flower beds to the rear. A perfect base from which to explore this beautiful corner of England, discover towns like Hay on Wye or venture further into Wales.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just a quick message to let you know how much we enjoyed our week in Arrow Green. Hope to return in the not too distant future. I love this bit of England. And the house is a wonderful quirky and comfy anomaly in the midst of all those medieval timber framed buildings! Great garden.

Arrow Green - peace and tranquility

  • 4 of 5

The property is a characterful, 'lived in' house with everything anyone could possibly need whilst staying! The garden is secure for dogs and is so peaceful. We were visited by numerous birds, including green woodpecker. I loved the kitchen and pantry, with a 'stone' and meat safe which I had to explain to my adult children. They had not contemplated life before refrigerator! The week was just what was needed for us all to switch off from our day to day lives. Very clean, nice bed linen and towels. Tea garden in village was great as was the Lion at Leintwardine for a better than pub grub evening meal. Would visit again.

Very relaxing stay in a gorgeous home

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely oved our stay in Arrow Green!! It is one of the most relaxing holiday properties we have every stayed in. The house and gardens are large and spacious. It is extremely well designed and so bright and airy. We were sorry we didn't plan a longer stay and will definitely be back. The owner was very accomodating and very quick to oblige us in any way he could. The village of Eardisland and surroundings are very picturesque with lots to do and explore.

Car: necessary

Arrow Green, with its delightful lawned garden, is located in what many consider to be one of the most picturesque villages in Herefordshire. Eardisland is the jewel of the Black and White Village Trail and guests can stroll by the banks of the River Arrow to stock up on delicious local produce from the local community shop housed in the former dovecote. The Welsh border landscape, an area of outstanding natural beauty, is peaceful and unspoilt. The Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons, Malvern Hills and south Shropshire hills are all within an hour's drive. The famous market towns of Ludlow and Hereford are well worth a visit.
