About this property

Relaxing Waterfront Home/ Access to Marinas & Restaurants

Your vacation home is nestled in a beautiful hardwood forest providing a front row seat to God's amazing creation. You can watch the wildlife and enjoy the song birds, and at the right times, even watch the Bald Eagles fish the cove. A beautiful Lindal Cedar Home with Australian Cypress floors and an open concept floor plan. The walk to the dock is fairly level, and there you will find 110 feet of waterfront on a beautiful deep water cove that is located across the lake from the State Park. Your vacation home is located on the public side of Lake Anna, giving you access to marinas, and several restaurants located on the water. Swimming in this lake is comfortable all summer long. Our dock has room for your boat.

Our home sleeps 6 people designed especially for families. We rent to people 25 or older. The 2 upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom and the other bathroom is located downstairs. We have a large 50 inch Smart TV in the Great Room, and we have provided a canoe and 7 kayaks for your enjoyment. We have also provided a gas grill for those of you who enjoy grilling. There is also a fire pit.

You'll be just a few minutes from a Food Lion Grocery store, a Chinese Restaurant, Subway and Big Cheese Pizza! You'll find more restaurants and shopping and wineries nearby, with some right on the water. Kings Dominion is only an hour away. Boating, fishing, kayaking, swimming and more right off your dock! Shopping, movies, bowling, antiquing and more are available in nearby Culpepper, Charlottesville or Fredericksburg, all within a 45 minute drive.

Perfect for a winter getaway!
Having travelled to the US for a week from London - we decided we'd like to get out to nature for a few days rather than spending it all in the city. We hired a car and drove to the lake - its very easy to find and in a beautiful location. You can tell Brian and Robin treat it as a home - its fully equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen (having done numerous cottage rentals - its rare to find such a fully stocked kitchen! Plenty of saucepans, cutlery, plates etc!) Its got 3 big cosy sofas in the sitting area, blankets, and board games and dvd's to keep you entertained in the evenings. The cabin is really all about comfort. Also, having the option of the wood burner, meant we were toasty in the evenings! The local supermarket ( Food Lion) was great - for those who don't know the chain, we had anticipated the rural location to mean a much smaller shop - but its was a good size with plenty of choices, meaning lots of choice for cooking a varied menu! It was nice to have the bikes on standby too - we borrowed two of them to cycle over and around the state park, great views even in the middle of winter and a lovely cycle. Bring your binoculars - the setting for the cabin is also perfect for nature watching by the lake, it was so peaceful. Robin and Brian were really accommodating to plan the trip with - we booked it all quite last minute and they went out of their way to make sure we had no problems! They had even gone down in advance to heat the cabin up so it wasn't chilly when we arrived! We really enjoyed our time at Lake Anna - and if we make it back to Virginia again, would not hesitate to plan a trip there - thanks guys!

Weekend getaway
Pictures do not do this place justice. Beautiful cabin. Very spacious. Cool bunks for school age kids. WiFi and local TV worked great. Kayaks were a lot of fun. Such a quiet surreal cove at Lake Anna. We caught bass and blue gill off the pier. Good Lion 3 minutes away. Pizza shop next to Food Lion. Hope to return some day.

Second Visit and Stay
This is a charming place to stay for a long weekend. We love the wood stove and the coziness. Some aspects of the furnishings are a little dated, but still comfortable.

Amazing!
This place was EVERYTHING we hoped it would be! Relaxing, fun, family time. The whole family LOVED being able to go kayaking and canoeing. We got to enjoy beautiful views and spacious living while still taking time to reconnect. The only thing that made it a little less enjoyable was the fact that you are expected to launder your own linens before leaving and take your trash with you. Perhaps I missed all of that before booking but I saw it in the policies afterwards. Doing laundry for three beds plus towels in the small washer and dryer was quite time consuming and took all morning before checkout. That being said. We would 100% book again.

Tom & Carol's Autumn Getaway
Terry & Chris's Whitetail Hollow is our favorite vacation getaway. We spent time fishing in our boat, which is conveniently docked on the property. We golfed nearby, we visited several nearby wineries, and spent an afternoon on the Skyline Drive. A truly memorable vacation. Thanks Terry & Chris.

We both grew up in Illinois, but we have lived in Florida for many years. We have two sons, one who lives in Kennesaw, Georgia, with his wife and three children, and another who lives in Washington, DC. After retiring from our jobs in teaching and real estate development, we decided to look for a place on the water where we could relax, fish, enjoy beautiful scenery and most importantly spend time with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

Our youngest son introduced us to Lake Anna several years ago and we began spending our vacations there. We loved being on the lake and enjoyed the many amenities and historical significance of the surrounding area. When we found White Tail Hollow, we were immediately taken by its tranquility and beauty. It is the perfect place to relax, recharge and reconnect with loved ones!

What makes this property unique

This quiet property offers an easy walk to the water where there is a dock from which you can launch a row boat, canoe or kayak (all provided). We also have swimming and hiking. There are several marinas where you can rent a pontoon boat, or you can just relax on the deck and bird watch (during the winter months it's not uncommon to see a Bald Eagle gliding up the cove looking for a meal). Whitetail Hollow really is a special place.
