About Evan Draeger
Evan and Jennifer both grew up in Wisconsin and met while in college at UW-La Crosse. There, they both fell in love with the bluffs and hills of Southwest Wisconsin. Shortly after getting married, they traveled Europe where they first discovered the brilliance of room and house rentals. They loved meeting locals and staying off the “beaten path.”
Evan Draeger purchased this Cabin in 2017
Why Evan Draeger chose Viroqua
Evan and Jen purchased the property in July of 2017 after many trips back and forth to the Driftless Region in search of the perfect land they could enjoy as a family. After viewing the little Amish cabin and taking a couple strolls through the woods, they knew it was the idyllic location for sweet little family getaways. They appreciate all the great things the area has to offer such as hiking, canoeing the Kickapoo River, fishing, antiquing, great restaurants, organic farming, and harvest season festivities.
What makes this Cabin unique
A setting like no other! Enjoying the coziness of our cabin while being able to witness nature at its best is priceless! Sitting on the deck is so relaxing, seeing the eagles soar over the cabin, and listening to the bubbling of Bishop Branch while having picnics is a true escape from reality and a tiny home away from home.

We'll be back
The right mix of modern convenience meets rustic cabin life. At night you fall asleep to the sound of the Bishop Branch Creek, and you wake up each morning surrounded by beautiful rolling hills. Our family very much enjoyed our stay even with some freezing temperatures (outside). My only complaint is that I didn't catch any fish... which means I'll have to be back another time. One thing to understand going into this cabin: hot showers only last a few minutes. It is part rustic so just be happy you are getting any hot water at all. We will be back for sure in the summer months. Thank you Draeger's.
Great location, fun area. If you're a person who enjoys fishing it's great
If you want to get away from it all this is for you! Quiet, no TV very limited cell service. The bar down the road is good and veriqua is a great community. The loft stairs are a ladder not stairs so be careful. Enjoy your time in the driftless area lots to do and see.
Practically perfect in every way. Practically Perfect? So people say.
Thanks again for opening your cabin and property to us to stay, and for being so responsive to our questions! You made us feel incredibly welcome, and the cabin was just as it was described and how we had hoped. Everything worked perfectly, and the beds and sofa were comfortable for when we were spending time inside, and there were plenty of options for spending time outside. Extra thanks for allowing pets - having our sweet pup with us made the trip even more special!
We took advantage of the Bishop Branch Creek across the highway one day, and even though weather was poor that day, we still caught a nice fish to have for dinner with produce and bread from the local Co-op. Wearing waders would have been wise on my part, but that's for next time. We enjoyed the farmer's market, Kickapoo Coffee, Driftless Cafe, and shops in town another day.
We can't wait to come back and spend more time visiting the parks in the area that others have mentioned. With some luck and a little planning and saving, hopefully someday we'll be neighbors!
Relaxing in a hidden gem!
Great view and wonderful new cabin provided a fantastic opportunity for our family to unplug and get back to nature. Nothing like sitting on the front porch in the morning, with a cup of coffee and gazing across the field, only to have a young buck walk up 20 feet away! What beats a grill out followed by a fire pit? The owner was approachable and kind...we hope to be back one day.
Nice cozy cabin with beautiful view!
This was a cute cozy cabin that was a little smaller than we expected but has a beautiful view from the porch. We sat and listened to the rain fall that was very comforting:). It was wonderful to see so many stars at night! It was stocked well with everything and the beds comfy! We slept like rocks... Our only issues were the fire pit was so far away down a hill, we learned to take a quick shower as water heater is small (we did get clean;) and the bathroom window really needs a covering for us shy women:). It was a very peaceful and stress free setting in the woods...
Cabin was PERFECT!
My son and I spent several days in the area fly-fishing. Cabin was great. It was clean and had everything we needed! Thank you.
