About Rene Syler
Hi there! My name is Rene Syler and if I look familiar to you, there might be a reason. After spending 20 years in television (I co-hosted The CBS Early Show and have made multiple appearances on Today show, CNN, The View, Dr. Oz and many more), I left TV full-time to focus on my website ( and my work as a digital media influencer. I am a wife and mother of two grown kids and I live in New York full-time. My motto? It doesn't have to be perfect; just good enough.
Rene Syler purchased this House in 2005

A little bit of heaven.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautiful home. The house is welcoming, incredibly comfortable, and immaculate. Rene texted us on check-in day and mid-week just to be sure everything was okay, which we so appreciated. We had so much fun, we ended up extending our stay! We would absolutely stay here again.
Great value and peaceful location
This house was very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay in Kiawah. My husband and I traveled with 6 kids and our small dog and everyone had plenty of room! We've always had to bring along extra paper goods, but Rene had everything we needed for this trip! She was very attentive and quick to respond. This house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with it's own private lane. We enjoyed spending time here and riding our bikes to the beach--there is a tunnel under the street to access the beach (probably a 5-10 minute bike ride). We had so much fun and we look forward to returning next year! Thanks for sharing your house with us!
Aww thank you Amanda! I truly enjoyed hosting you and your family! Thank you for taking such great care of my home and I welcome you back anytime!
Just not for us
The location was fine until the builders two doors down started in. The house is nice enough and roomy, but the master bed mattress was solid—way too hard and the sheets reeked of Gain. The queen bed was okay, but as we settled in for the night I realized the sheets were not clean. I washed them the next day. The pillows are worn out and could use a wash, too. The lightbulbs are burned out in several fixtures and I cannibalized from ones in unused spaces because there was only one spare. There was only a Keurig machine, and no colander (only a fryer basket) and no microwave containers. The best room is the sunroom, but it is crammed with an oversized table and hard chairs, so for a winter visit, not so nice. If you watch TV for entertainment, there’s a giant old TV in the main room, but it’s not compatible with a streaming device. The one in the master bedroom is hard to see with the lamps on, and the bed is like sitting on the floor. We left early.
Thanks so much for staying with us. Everything was cleaned and laundered prior to your arrival. Light bulbs do occasionally blow out. I will certainly make sure that extras are on hand in the future. Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy New Year!
