Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in East Sussex - The Light House

Beautiful luxury cottage next to England’s finest beach close to historic Rye

This luxurious 3 bedroom White Sand holiday cottage is just a couple of minutes walk to the Camber Sands beach, close to the medieval town of Rye in East Sussex, 1066 Country.

This Camber Sands Holiday Cottage is equipped the with the guest's enjoyment, relaxation and comfort in mind with the spacious living areas that includes an enormous 50' plasma TV with Sky and XBox one games consoles along with many dvd's board games and books.

The large bright and sunny open plan kitchen-dining room is a great area to sit down with family and friends which opens up onto the decked garden equipped with fire pit, dining furniture and a BBQ - perfect for al fresco dining!.

Upstairs you will find the three bedrooms and family bathroom.

Camber Sands is an excellent base for your holiday on the coast of East Sussex. Whether you’re looking to enjoy the unspoilt beauty of the beach, enclosed by the picturesque dunes, exploring historic castles, medieval towns and country houses or keeping fit by cycling and walking or even kite and windsurfing, it’s all here on your doorstep.

Dogs love a big sandy beach – space to run around, sand dunes to explore, water to splash in, interesting smells to discover and plenty of other dogs to play with. So when you bring your four-legged friend to our holiday Cottage, it’s good to know that the incredible dog friendly Camber Sands beach is right on your doorstep. They will be in is doggy heaven!

Food lovers are well catered for, there’s something for everyone, from your typical seaside staples like fish and chips to the gourmet delights from some award winning local pubs and restaurants in Rye. If you fancy preparing your own meals in the well appointed kitchens of your holiday home then there’s a fantastic array of shops and Deli’s selling local produce and meats including Romney lamb to fresh fish caught by the Rye Bay fishing fleet as well as award-winning wines.

The Light House, Camber Sands is also the perfect location to visit London and all the famous attractions which we can get you 2 for 1 discounts

No stay is complete without visiting the medieval Cinque Port of Rye, home to many beautifully preserved historic buildings from medieval, Tudor and Georgian times including the medieval church and the Ypres Tower (castle). Rye's enchanting cobbled streets are lined with historic inns and restaurants as well as a host of unusual shops selling antiques, collectables, local produce and works by the town’s many resident artists and potters. The town plays host to many events throughout the year including the famous Rye Bay Scallop festival in February, the Arts Festival every September

Whatever the weather, it is difficult not to be seduced by the beguiling beauty of nearby Romney Marshes, almost as mysterious and lonely as they were in the 17th Century when smugglers swapped local wool for brandy from France. The 100-square-mile marsh encompasses tiny villages, ancient, secluded churches and The Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

The historic seaside town of Hastings is only a few miles away, with its ancient churches, tiny narrow streets and the ruins of a castle built by William the Conqueror. When the weather is inclement there is The Blue Reef Aquarium and fantastic smugglers caves to visit. For history buffs, why not visit the site that on 14th October 1066 an army of invading Normans defeated the English at the Battle of Hastings. There you can stand on the very spot where King Harold was slain and the course of our history changed forever. You can explore the ruins of the atmospheric abbey, built by William the Conquer to commemorate the thousands who died. It is a great day out for the whole family, with a major new exhibition that uses film, computer technology and interactive exhibits to bring to life this bloodiest of conflicts.

Good location

  • 4 of 5

Property was big enough for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Very pleased with generous welcome pack from local producers.

Had everything you could need for the week although we felt the property could have been cleaner.

The bedding was lovely and clean but white towels instead of blue would have been better for us.

A lovely cosy friendly house that had everything needed for our short break. As usual Richard the houses we have rented from you have been superb. A really nice touch is the welcome pack in the kitchen the cakes godown very nicely with a cup of tea after our long drive. It was lovely to see you and Sophie again with baby Arthur who last time we stayed with you was just a bump. Hope Oscar likes playing with his new friend. Thanks for calling into greet us again it makes us feel we are more than just friends and not just clients. Look forward to seeing the four of you again hopefully in the spring. Lovely cosy house.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with 3 kids. The house is very cosy, is well equiped and feels easily like your own house within minutes. 3 bedrooms suited us fine.

Nearby city Rye is very close and highly recommended. Camber is a little quiet and comes alive in summertime, because of the nice sandy beaches out here.
