About Yann Denault and Caroline Lagacé
Bonjour! We are a couple in their thirties who have met 10 years ago working in restaurants. Being manager and waiter in that industry made us realize the importance of listening to our clients and how everything is in the details. We then found that we shared the same concerns: the quality of customer service and a real passion for Montreal! After much discussion, we decided to pursue this to another level in the rental industry. We started with two apartments in 2011. We then continued to expand our business eversince. Now parents of two, we love running our family business and our 16 apartments. With our small yet friendly and professionnal team, we are dedicated to provide the best and responsive customer service, clean, stylish and fully-stocked locations so you can have a memorable stay in our beautiful city. We love Montréal, we love our apartments, we love what we do. We will spare no efforts to share this passion with you ;) Caroline, Yann & the MTL Vacation Rentals team (Marty, Karine, Fred, Noemie)

A wonderful visit & city!
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely apartment! It had lots of character and European charm. There was plenty of space for us & our 4 children and the location was fantastic. We also found that there was always somewhere to go and something to see. Montreal is a MUST VISIT city and this neighborhood in particular completely met our expectations.
We hope to come back some day.
Superb flat in Montreal!
We loved this apartment and its location. Montreal is a wonderful city to explore and we made ample use of the Bixi bikes located just 100ft away from front door. The apartment was clean and super comfortable. Chris, the property manager/ owner, let us in and was very friendly and helpful as we arrived a bit early. We will certainly return!
Montreal Summer 2019
As smooth a check in process as I have experienced. The property is in an excellent location, convenient to everything. Marty stayed in contact throughout our arrival, even emailing alternate instructions when we were 45 minutes away due to a local festival causing several street closures.
would not hesitate to recommend the property and the managers.
Wonderful, thanks for this 5 star review! It was a pleasure hosting you and your family. We are devoted to give you the best experience from the moment you booked until the check-out, it's our mission! Kind regards, Marty for the MTL Vacation Rentals
We enjoyed our family time at 143. We had space to be comfortable individually and as a group. Bars and restaurants were plentiful
Thank you for choosing MTL Vacation Rentals! You are welcome back in any of our 16 Plateau apartment. Best wishes, Caroline and the team
The location was perfect for walking to unique boutiques and a slew of interesting restaurants . The apartment was clean, spacious with comfortable furniture, appealing decor and loads of amenities . We will definitely return.
We are so pleased to read you, many thanks for your nice words. Best regards, Caroline and the MTL Vacation Rentals team!
Long Weekend in Montreal
First and foremost, the customer service that comes with this property is fantastic. I hold customer service is very high regard, and this management team is top-notch. Emails were answered in very short order, they always answered the phone, etc. Do not think for a second that you are renting someone's home while they're away; this is professional management and top quality service. I can recommend renting from this group on this aspect alone.
This condo is in an unbeatable location in the Mile End. If you are looking to do touristy things downtown, I suppose you could stay here, but this is much more suited to a neighborhood experience. Its surrounded by neighborhood shops and neighborhood restaurants; it's a very authentic feel. You can walk most places you want to go.
As for the unit itself, although not as gleaming as it appears in the pictures, it is more than serviceable. The beds are all memory foam mattresses and pillows. There's beautiful sunshine in the living room and front terrace (which overlooks the street) most of the day. The kitchen is well stocked and highly functional. Olive oil, salt, pepper, most utensils, and wine (and champagne) glasses are provided. If you want to go somewhere and cook (which I recommend, there are great products available in MTL), this is the place. There's also a grill on the terrace. Entry/exit via door code is also great (no keys!). Highly convenient parking out back is also available for $15/day. There is also a dep downstairs (not directly underneath) that has a spectacular beer selection, if that's your thing. There's also cable, netflix and WiFi.
I would lose credibility if I did not address the negative: the floors in the main hallway and bedrooms are VERY CREAKY. Like, very very creaky. If someone gets up to go pee in the middle of the night, everyone in the house wakes up and hears it. It's the first thing you notice when you enter the unit. As a result of this (and whether it's true or not) the walls seem like they're paper thin.
Other than my one complaint, this is a spectacular place. You cannot beat the location, neighborhood feeling and customer service. I would vacation through this group again in a heartbeat.
Thank you John for your detailled review and good comments. We love to read : top quality service and spectacular place ;) Regarding the creaky floors, as it is an old building, we have to deal with it but last year we installed "squeek no more" screws and it helped a lot. Thank you for the cue, we'll put some more to reduce the squeeking.
We're happy you had a great stay and you're welcome back anytime!
Merci, Caroline, MTL Vacation Rentals
Located just a few steps from the Mont-Royal metro station, you'll be able to get anywhere within minutes. Finding a better location is almost impossible.
The Plateau Mont-Royal, this popular area that became yuppie-bohemian is by far the most hip in Montreal. Small intimate theaters, thrift stores, used bikes, exclusive boutiques, cafes, restaurants and delis add to the cultural ferment and bohemian atmosphere that characterize the Plateau, where all lifestyles converge.
This is the best place to really get a feel of what Montreal is all about. It’s community is predominantly francophone and highly eclectic. Artists, students, young professionals and new families mingle with each other, creating an extraordinarily vibrant and colorful human mosaic. Those who do not live there come as often as possible to play and go out, and for good reasons...
Four major arteries are heart the neighborhood: The Saint-Laurent Boulevard - "The Main" - where many cultural communities have established their shops, the Rue Saint-Denis and its multitude of shops, cafes and terraces, Prince Arthur Street and its restaurants "Bring your own wine" and the Mount Royal Avenue with bars both connected and relaxed. A constant hum contrasts with the tranquility of the side streets, the lined up stairs of twisted wrought iron, as well as the lush greenery of Parc La Fontaine.
At night, the Plateau is known to be especially entertaining and warm. From chic lounge to corner microbreweries, from a wide variety of restaurants and taverns to high caffeine content and lively discussions of all it’s coffee shops, the choice is rich. Musicians - Quebec art scene is extremely innovative and prolific - occur every night and all summer, the sidewalks are full of life. A night out, it's here.
