Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Alaska - Big Beaver Lake House

3 BR / 2 BA private lakefront home

Ideal lakefront setting. Large shoreline lawn and dock, perfect for all to congregate for water activities - Pontoon boat for leisurely cruise around the lake, kayaks, paddle boat, canoe, paddle boards and swimming. Plenty of beach towels and lifejackets too! Other custom boating services available by reservation with owner. Large deck with gas grill, two picnic tables. The house has beautiful knotty pine interior, a large kitchen; spacious dining area and large living room, all facing the lake with lots of windows. Satellite DirecTV and cablei internet access. Lots of outdoor games: ladderball, volleyball, wiffleball, to name a few. If indoor is your style - we have a sizable movie library and many board games, card games, and a Wii. Enjoy the evenings by the bonfire or enjoy a nice hot Sauna with a dip in the water (summer) or a roll in the snow (winter :~)

Bedrooms are very comfortable - new mattresses, good pillows - always fresh clean linens. All mattresses and pillows have hypo allergenic covers. One bathroom downstairs with jetted tub and shower - one bathroom upstairs with tub and shower. The kitchen is very spacious, easy to cook in and comes well stocked with everything you need.

As for other local activities.... can't name it all here. The Matanuska Susitna valley has hiking, Iditirod Mushers Dog Kennels to visit, visting Historic Talkeetna is a must, Hatcher Pass to hike and visit Independence Mine. the list goes on and on. Visitor Center is on the way too in case you need suggestions. So much to do - anything from Glacier guided tours, Ziplining to hiking and Mt. Biking is all within your front doorstep to 30 to 45 minutes from the lakehouse. Denali is about 2 hours North of Big Lake.

For Golf enthusiasts - Settlers Bay is less than 30 minutes drive.

Beautiful lake house in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was great! We arrived at the Lake House after having cruised north from Vancouver. We found the house to be exactly as it had been described in the listing. It's location was perfect. Mantanuska Glacier, Talkeetna, Anchorage and Hatcher's Pass were all within a relatively short driving distance. The house was extremely clean and stocked with almost everything one could need. Scott and Lindy were extremely accommodating and helpful with any questions that we had. I highly recommend this rental property to anyone who is looking to experience Alaska.

We had a wonderful time at the lake house this summer! My husband and I and two of our adult children and spouses from Florida spent a week in June in Alaska for a family reunion in Wasilla. The cabin was very clean, pretty and stocked better than any we have ever seen. We all enjoyed cruising around the lake on the pontoon boat and using the paddle boards. Late in the evening we sat around the nice fire pit (tons of wood ready to use available)and laughed and shared stories from our day. We loved the cabin and made lots of happy memories there when we weren't hiking beautiful trails around the area. Scott and Lindy were great to work with and conscientious in everything to make our stay there enjoyable. It's the perfect place to stay!

This house was simply great! Private, quiet, and peaceful. The owners have equipped the house with all you need for a great stay, and they keep it clean and organized - they've thought of everything to make guests feel welcome and able to settle in quickly. No fuss. We enjoyed the kayaks, the games, and especially the fire pit by the lake. The sunsets were spectacular. From the the moment we walked in the door we knew we had picked the right place for our vacation and base for traveling to Talkeetna. We are so happy with this choice, and recommend it highly for anyone looking for a perfect lake house vacation.

Fabulous Lake House

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented the lake house with our two grown sons for 3 nights. We had the best time! The house is centrally located, on the way from Anchorage to Denali or the Matanuska Glacier. We used many of the water toys (paddleboards, pontoon boat, and giant inflatable fun station), enjoyed an evening fire on shore and relaxing. The house is roomy and well-organized. The village at Big Lake has a grocery store with everything you need. We went ice climbing one day (less than 2 hours away). I can't say enough about this lovely lakefront home.

Wonderful get away - even for locals!!!

  • 5 of 5

We live in Alaska and explore this beautiful state every chance we get in the summer. That said, this was one of the BEST long weekends we've taken, maybe ever. Since we don't own our own lake house (yet), we took full advantage of everything this place has to offer. With the plethora of activities available, we didn't want to leave the grounds for a minute. We enjoyed the pontoon, sauna, kayaks, paddleboards, yard games, fire pit, and more. The owners have done everything possible to ensure a comfortable stay, and they provide so many amenities that you need only bring your own food, clothes, and personal care items. Everything else is provided. The washer and dryer was a big plus and not something you normally think of, but it was nice to be able to keep things clean during the stay. I can't say enough good things about this place, and I would recommend it to anyone. We plan to make this an annual trip until we can purchase our own dream lake house.
