Villa Telika is a modern, established property on a development of two, offering a high standard of comfort without compromising on style. This beautiful setting offers a peaceful, private holiday without the need to hire a car.
A welcome pack is provided as standard.
The villa is air-conditioned throughout, and with its own private pool and plenty of shaded areas you can always find a reprieve from the midday sun, and enjoy the beautiful sea and inland views over the tops of the surrounding orchards, both from the patio and the upstairs balconies.
The main living / kitchen area and the ground floor double bedroom both have French doors to the patio and pool area, with the superb backdrop of olive groves, orchard and cactus plants. There is also a shower room and wc on the gground floor.
On the first floor is the main double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and large, airy balconies with stunning panoramic views.
For a family of five a third child can be accommodated on a sofa bed in the lounge. A cot and high chair are also available.
Kalathos is a year-round village at the southern end of the bay of Kalathos with its 5kms of uncrowded beach, just 5km from the beautiful picturesque village of Lindos, with its ancient acropolis and 'sugar cube' white houses and cobbled streets.
St Paul's Bay, next to Lindos, is a popular venue for dream weddings.
At the north end of the bay is the beautiful fishing village of Charaki, with lovely waterfront restaurants.
Water sports are available in Kalathos and less than 10km away at Lardos.
Kalathos is well equipped with essential shops including Bakery, Pharmacist and some small Supermarkets, as well as several Tavernas, and is on the main bus route along the East coast of the island.
For those who want to see more of the island, Kalathos is centrally placed, half way down the east coast.
Attractions range from archaeological sites such as Kamiros in the North West, to exotic spots such as Kalithea Springs in the North East, extreme sporting activities at Prassonisi in the South, and of course Rhodes Town in the North and Lindos and Charaki nearby.
Villa Telika is surrounded by orchards and olive groves, only 100 metres from the centre of Kalathos, the nearest Tavernas, and bus stops to Lindos and Rhodes Town. The beach is just 15 minutes walk away and there is a large well-stocked Supermarket 1 km away.
That's me in my favourite rooftop restaurant in Lindos, as the sun goes down.
Travelling round the Mediterranean in a LandRover for half of 1980 left me with a long term dream of owning a property somewhere there, preferably in Greece. The dream was unexpectedly made possible by a series of both happy and unhappy events, and I now consider myself very fortunate to have my own beautiful holiday home, which I’m happy to share with my guests, as it would be a waste to leave the villa empty when I can't be there.
Steve Vanston purchased this villa in 2007
I love Greece and the Greek islands, of which Rhodes is the sunniest, even through the winter months. I was looking for a ready-built house but when I didn't find the right one I was attracted by a tiny artist’s impression of a new design of house, proposed for a location in the south of Rhodes. When this turned out to be too remote, the builder offered to build the same house on another site – the location was perfect and one look at the view sold it to me. The rest, as they say, is history.
It took a long time to build (hence ‘Telika’, which means ‘eventually’ in Greek), but having been involved from the beginning I was able to influence the design to some extent, and choose finishes and ‘optional extras’. I designed my own beds, dining tables and chairs and had them made by a local blacksmith, so both the house and the furniture are unique. Then over the past 7 years I’ve made a lot of improvements all round the villa, not least of which is the garden, designed and planted with a lot of help from my partner Pat.
Then of course there is the view (some locals have described it as a piece of heaven), and the peace and tranquility loved by all who have stayed here.

You can reach the bakery, the butcher and some little shops in 5-10 min.
The sunrise from the terrace is wonderful.

Firstly the pictures of this villa don't do it justice! It is even better once you get there.
Despite only being a two minute walk from Kalathos - you feel as though you are in your own little piece of paradise with the sea in front of you, the beautiful green hills dotted with discreet houses and a lovely greek church behind you and the olive, pomegranate and lime trees right beside you.
I am not ashamed to admit that my husband and I are extremely fussy when it comes to our holidays and have spent the past 20 odd years trying to work out what we like best and this villa and it's location hit the spot! Throw in opinionated 16 and 19 yrs old boys - who also agreed that this villa was by far the best they had been too then I think it that says it all.
The villa has plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing, with two big bathrooms - perfect for holidaying with teenagers.
The outside are was immaculate and the pool more than big enough for everyone - including doing a bit of snorkeling and pool football!
I can't speak highly enough of Steve the villa's owner, who provided all the information we could need, responded to and answered every query we had immediately, giving us real peace of mind about our holiday.
We spent three glorious weeks in this beautiful villa. Situated in a stunning location next to an orchard with fantastic views over the sea and mountains, this villa was perfect in all ways. We loved getting up in the morning and going for a dip in the pool and then sitting on the terrace and having breakfast, and although Kalathos is just a short walk away it was always very peaceful. The villa has two good-sized bedrooms, bathrooms upstairs and down and a kitchen/lounge area. There were lots of little homely touches - books and games in the cupboard, toys for the pool, a welcome pack when we arrived - that really sets this apart from a lot of other places. Kalathos itself has all the amenities that you could want and plenty of very nice restaurants and we did our best to try as many as possible!
Steve was absolutely brilliant with tons of information regarding restaurants, car hire, places to go etc. and was always very quick to respond to any questions we had. He did his very best to make sure we had everything we needed.
Rhodes itself has plenty to offer and as we hired a car for the duration of the holiday, I think we probably travelled the length and breadth of the island. So many interesting places, it really does have something for everyone and although we've rarely returned to anywhere we've been before, we agreed that we couldn't imagine not going back to Rhodes and Villa Telika again, so much so that we've booked again for next year, and I can't give a higher recommendation than that!
The villa had everything we needed with lovely views from the pool area. The pool and sunbathing areas were in the sun from early morning until evening. There was a lovely shaded area to escape to when the heat was too much.
We didnt spend much time inside but very well eqiupped.
The only thing missing was a welcome pack on arrival which would have been nice as we arrived late at night. This was easily sorted though with a quick trip to a bar for some water and there is a good supermarket a few minutes drive away to stock up the following morning.
Had a fantastic , relaxing holiday and didnt want to leave.
Thank you Steve for letting us stay and replying quickly to emails when booking etc.
Just returned from a week in Villa Telika and have to say we were delighted with every aspect of our stay. The Villa is well laid out and homely. Stepping out on to the terrace with a sparkling pool before you and a lovely shaded seating area. Uninterrupted views of the sea. Two large balconies off the first floor master bedroom offering outstanding views of the sea, the pretty garden and surrounding countryside. Two bathrooms (very handy) What more could we ask for.
The owner Steve is super informative and the booking process was a breeze. Jamie, your contact during your stay, is very friendly and offers advice on where to go and what are the better options for dining out.etc.
We are missing our little gem of a house and have asked Steve already if he will have us back next year.
If you are looking for clean, well appointed accommodation, conveniently positioned on a quiet hillside but in easy reach of Lindos which is very beautiful and the many beaches, you will not be disappointed.
Fingers crossed, we will be returning next summer.
Thanks Bev and Steve......Liverpool
I stayed at Villa Telika with my husband and daughters (9 and 7) in August 2015. The villa was beautiful with everything we needed provided - a real home from home. The property was clean, well presented and well maintained. There was a supermarket nearby where we were able to stock up on food and there was also a local and really friendly chemist nearby. There was so much to do on Rhodes including a visit to Rhodes Old Town, Lindos (town and Acropolis), the Seven Springs, the Butterfly Valley and of course the water park. Rhodes is such a beautiful island and our holiday was greatly enhanced through having a lovely base to return to each evening.
We also found a number of good restaurants nearby, which served stunning meals - of note was Konstantin Restaurant in Kalathos.
Our trip to Rhodes is one we will always remember, and I would thoroughly recommend Rhodes and Villa Telika to anyone.
We spent two weeks in the summer of 2015 in Villa Telika. Our two gilrs, 6 and 9 ath the time enjoyed our stay as much as we did. The pool is excellent, the equipment first class, the views spectacular,.. I could go on and on.
It is located in Kalathos, there is a bakery in walking disance and a great supermarket just three driving minutes away.
We enjoyed whole days just relaxing at the villa. Then we remembered we had to eat. Often we would stay in but there are quite a number of restaurants just a few minutes away.
We can recommend the place for a family holiday and we would certainly go back there.
