Waterfront Near Marquette, Negaunee, Gwinn and Ishpeming
I grew up in Michigan and attended NMU and just loved the area and the outdoors. When I graduated from college my wife and I moved to Washington state to work for the US Army Corps of Engineers. I acquired a position with a manufacturing company soon after and spent the last 21 years working in the production of food. My wife continued her career with the Corps of Engineers until we adopted two lovely children. During our careers we would move every couple years and we wanted the kids to have a place to call home long-term and to build memories like we had growing up in the great outdoors. Therefore, we built our Log Home as our own personal family retreat center. My wife and I love all animals and have a mini farm in Wisconsin that we love. It has goats, chickens, rabbits, and we have two cats and two dogs. Along with all the little outdoor critters like frogs, turtles, snakes, deer and bears. I retired from manufacturing in 2016 and wanted to spend more time helping people and serving our Lutheran school/church where I am executive Director of the church and school along with spending more time with my family. In my spare time, between yard work and working on older Dodge Trucks I am writing a book on Saving Money. Also, I like to day trade in the stock market and work on house projects and renovations. May of the home features you see from the installation of the hardwood floor and tile were personally done by me. My goal is to publish my book in 2018 with the hopes that it will help people at all levels in society think about saving and giving. Also, I am going to work with the financial industry by helping people invest their resources to be able to give more to help others. I plan to work with people between Marquette area and Wisconsin. I love to listen to others stories and help people so don't be afraid to email or call me if I can be of help.
Chris purchased this House in 2012
Why Chris chose Negaunee
I purchased this property because of the great location, views, privacy, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, hiking, gold panning, trail-biking, sno-biking and yet I am only a few miles from Marquette and all the town has to offer. Also, there is a boat launch at the end of our road to the McClure basin which has some great fishing. There is an abundance of wildlife there to enjoy and I am close to great neighbors whom I have been friends with for many years. Also it is good to be an area where you can slow down and it's so quiet you can enjoy life. Also we are very close to Marquette so you have all the things that you need to live a comfortable life. The location is pure heaven and at night you can hear nature at its' finest while watching shooting stars overhead all year and you can see the Northern lights on the cold clear winter nights.

Beautiful Home in the Woods!
We had a wonderful time in this house. The area is beautiful and the house is beautiful. We all loved early morning coffee and late evening sunset on the deck. The owner was really great to work with and took care of everything for us. The house has a great layout. Bedrooms on three levels, two and half baths and lots of room! We loved hiking, spending time at the beach, and going into Marquette. It was a fun place to spend time with our children and grandchildren making memories.
Thank you Chris for great accommodations!

Enjoyed our stay at this fabulous log home
Sept 13 - 17. Enjoyed our stay at this fabulous log home to attend our granddaughter's wedding. The perfect location, beautiful setting for our weekend and excellent communication with the owner and the property manager(the best). Will recommend this beautiful home in a second. The weather was so perfect and the view was great, if there were a patio table, we could have eaten out on the deck. Thank you Chris and Julie.
