We really enjoyed our visit to The Little Round House. Country setting, privacy and every thing we needed (other than food and drink) was there. Loved the eye level view of the meadow and bird feeders when in the kitchen. Very much enjoyed the golf cart tour with our host, Chris.
Best Stay of My Life!
Fantastic! Romantic! Magical! ...there just aren’t enough wonderful words to describe the Little Round House. From the exquisitely private and natural setting to the amazing handcrafted furniture a structural details, the fire pit, BBQ, and quietly tittering creek, the entire experience was that of a dream like fantasy. Yes, this place is hobbit land! We wish we could stay forever.
Great hiking, right on site. So much to go see and do if you want. Fly fishing in Thurmont, and visiting Red Heifer Winery was the only trip off site for us. Beautiful fires in the evenings, and coffee at the shegebo in the morning, enjoying the flowers and the birds all day long. Such an accommodating host. Very unique little cottage.
Lovely and romantic place to stay
This is truly a wonderful, romantic, lovely place to stay. The host was perfect and very generous with his time and recommendations.
Thanks Sam for your kind review.
We really enjoyed the Little Round House
The home, the property, the owners, the remote environment, Taneytown, was first rate.
Sitting in the kitchen area watching the bird feeders and how it attracted so many different species was incredible. The squirrels were fun to to watch as well. But what was amazing is how did the alpha squirrel get up on the steel bird feeder stand? Did he leap to the feeder?
Remarkably, we were able watch to this big squirrel climb the steel rod like it was a wood pole to eat from the feeder. Though no deer came around while we at the house, but on the way out the road when leaving, six deer. The fire place, the fire pit, the house, all good.
Chris was great! The welcome sign was really cool. Gettysburg was amazing.
Just a super 38th wedding anniversary.
Wonderful & Relaxing Getaway!
Such an amazing place! The house is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Inside is enough to keep you entertained, or you can walk around the beautiful property, and maybe have the pleasure of a K-9 visit, there are some nice paths by the stream right out back to walk along, or build a fire in the fire pit. We bought some groceries to cook in the nicely equipped kitchen and grill - and hunkered down for an unplugged weekend. Chris is a very friendly and accommodating host!
