Sisters (& mom) weekend
Seashells is a beautiful home in West Cape May. The house was clean, the kitchen and appliances are newly updated, every room was well appointed and comfortable with lots of room to spread out! I love the outdoor shower, porch and we had lunch in the garden one afternoon. We made sandwiches on croissants from Chez Michel a Bakery at the end of the street --they were amazing!
My 2 sisters, mom and niece and I had a wonderful time enjoying the beach, local restaurants, shopping and we even had time to squeeze in a trolley tour. I have visited CM many times but enjoyed very much being with them as they visited for the first time. Seashells was a wonderful backdrop for making memories and enjoyig eachother's company!
West Cape May Gem
Property is well kept, in a nice neighborhood, and has nice amenities. Owner is highly communicative and easy to work with. A great stay for a long weekend
Wonderful location. The house is lovely and the owners are lovely as well.
The process was straight forward and the location is well situated near all that cape May has to offer.
The house was great! Tastefully decorated, house super clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for baking and grilling. Nice quiet street , short walk to the beach. The adults enjoyed the porch for evening chats.
Thanks to the owners for always being accessible if we had any questions.
Lovely, well-located house in Cape May
This is a simple, lovely place to stay. The photo doesn't do it justice as it is not "grand" in a conventional sense. It is on a quiet, convenient street, a short 10 minute walk from the center of town and just a couple of blocks from several excellent restaurants, a liquor store and other amenities.
It is wonderful for outdoor seating and talking - either on the front porch or in the really lovely back yard, with patio, table and chairs, grill, beach shower and lovely landscaping.
Inside the house is only 20-25 feet wide but the whole right side is full of huge windows that let in light and make the house feel much larger than it is.. Kitchen area is great with a vast island for food preparation on one side and eating on the other. And there is a large dining table for 8 in the front room.
There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor: a front-facing room with a queen bed, a second with 2 twins, and a back room, the "Master" with another queen. Then up another stair, in the attic, is a "garret" room with 3 single beds. There are some "awkward" features: the front stairway, right inside the front door opens directly into the front bedroom (odd layout) and from there is a narrow stair to the "garret". The other bedrooms are best accessed by a stairway at the back of the kitchen.
Bathrooms: one full bath with tub and shower on second floor in the middle of the house. And a half-bath on first floor at back of the house. Those in the "garrett" have to come down the narrow stairs, through the front bedroom and into the hall to access the full bath. So this house works fine for most anyone as long as they don't need bedrooms and a full bathroom on the first floor.
I stayed there with my 5 brothers for 3 nights and we loved it - we'd go back in a minute. You can get much "grander" places in Cape May but this is a nice, simple, lovely place.
Don, the owner, was very easy to work with and did a great job of suggesting places to go, to eat and things to do. He is one of the best I've dealt with. We were very happy with our choice.
The house was beautiful and in very good condition.
Don and Joanne were easy to work with and provided a list of local restaurants to eat at. They also provided a lot of information regarding Cape May.The house was in easy working distance of the beach and local restaurants. It was also in easy walking distance of the Washington Street Mall. The house has adequate accommodations for a family with children or two couples.
Miles of soft sandy safe pristine award winning beaches to enjoy. Historic walking town with amazing restaurants and fabulous homes.
