great one night stay at a quaint cottage by the sea

  • 4 of 5

Four of us (2 generation family trip) stayed one night at this cute cottage with a great location. The property is located in the heart of Catalina, one block away from main strip. Given the location, it was surprisingly quiet. The cottage was decorated in a fun vintage manner and was surprisingly roomy given the location. Beds were comfortable, yet rooms abutted to each other with thin walls diminishing privacy. Carpets showed obvious wear and tear but manager told us that the plan was to remove the stained carpets in the near future for wood floors. We would definitely return!

Location, location, location! Historic home close to water and restaurants.

  • 5 of 5

Photos on VRBO accurately reflect this home. A bit rustic and quirky. You can see home was added on to over time built in the early 1900's. I understand in Catalina this is typical according to a local. You can't beat the location close to water and dock. Manager very helpful and responsive.

Everything to like about this Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Location, management and charm! My first impression online was that this property would be a place to stick my college-aged kids. It indeed was a perfect location for us and younger children.

Yes it's older and charming and has evolved over the decades, but it's exactly what we needed. We had fun with the decor, plenty of sleeping areas, and the location really is absolutely unbelievable. It was not noisy; it was comfortable, air-conditioned and we had everything we needed.

The owner and management representative were gracious.

I own two luxury vacation homes and have some experience. These people did it right. Would absolutely come back

Best features were the proximity to town and the funky casual ambiance of the house. Allowing a small dog was a huge bonus too. Thanks for a wonderful week!

Good place

  • 4 of 5

Couldn't get ahold of the manager but we showed up and walked in and everything was ready for us. I think she just respects your privacy to the max. Accommodating with rental too

Street is loud outside and the house will get very cold, but to me that was part of the rustic charm. Not the fanciest place you'll find but gets the job done.

Got my deposit back quickly.

Cute cottage close to the beach

  • 4 of 5

All the raving reviews are accurate - this is a very comfortable, well- furnished historic cottage that is very conveniently located. Its older construction is really not an issue, unless it gets chilly and you will quickly notice its lack of insulation (as you would with any older home). There are plenty of heaters here, so its not really a problem though. Everything worked well and was kept in good condition, despite what appears to be the original electrical wiring still in use.

Notably, its proximity to the beach could be a double-edged sword for some, possibly. Although it is so convenient to get anything you need only a short walk away, you will notice the noise and traffic that must make its way past your living room each morning and evening. It's not a big deal, but it may get annoying if you're here for some peace and quiet. The Von's Express store literally a few yards away is very convenient too, as are the many great eateries around town. We never even thought about using a golf cart here. Use the city shuttle or just walk instead.

Our favorite activity: the dolphin quest boat trip. We must have seen two hundred dolphins!
