Location, Location, Location
I stayed at Conch Key Villas in April. I wanted a quiet secluded place on the water, centrally located in The Keys, that would seem like home while I explored.
I hit the JACKPOT!!! I truly felt a combination of it being my own little home base and being the guest of a lovely host!
I came with loose plans because I really did want to sit still and watch sunsets and listen to the breeze in palm trees. I had plenty of that and I can still channel that feeling when I look at all my sunset and sea pictures and I feel that wonderful peace and calm.
My home was Studio 4 and like all of Conch Key Villas you can feel the attention, care and pride in the place. Because it was April, I needed my AC only one night. The rest of the time I had windows open for that water-kissed breeze. Lovely. Perfect. There are bicycles and kayaks available and I ended up with a pre-sunset ritual of a ride over Long Key Bridge to chat with fisherman and families fishing from the bridge. It was a short ride to Grassy Key and Curry Hammock State Park, which has a nice Atlantic Beach and covered picnic tables with grills.
I wandered regularly to beautiful quiet, clean Sombrero Beach just down the road in Marathon. I drove to Bahia Honda and Sandspur Beach. Bahia Honda is a gem! I had camped there ten years before. Being so centrally located, I headed South on Saturday May 4th. I stopped at The National Key Deer Refuge and took a short, gorgeous hike and then kept meandering South. I ended up in Key West at The Green Parrot right before post time for The Kentucky Derby to get a little taste of home! I met some great people and decided to stay the night in Key West, went on a sunset boat concert, went dancing, slept like a baby and had a lazy morning. But when I started my drive north, I felt like I was heading home and was looking forward to being back there.
At Stewart's suggestion, I snorkeled once to Sombrero Reef on The Spirit, which departs out of Porkie's right before the Seven Mile Bridge. I snorkeled again out of Robbie's in Islamorada to Alligator Reef. These trips were exhilarating and gorgeous and made me want to become a more accomplished snorkeler - or even maybe next trip - DIVE!
There is SO much to see and DO in The Keys and Conch Key Villas is PERFECTLY located to put you in easy reach of ALL of it AND is such a peaceful, cozy, clean place with an available, kind host! I give it five stars and will absolutely try to be back whenever I can!
I planned this vacation for my 21st bday and wanted to see the Florida keys. After hearing the pros and cons about the keys I was anxious to explore the keys. Although I wasn't impressed with the keys, conch key villa made my stay worth while. The owners Stuart and Katie are AMAZING! They were nice, helpful, funny, and just all around great people. During my stay at the keys I mostly stayed in the villa and made my own fun. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful you would have to see it in person! If I ever went back to the keys it would be to stay in the conch key villa.
Katie and Stewart, coupled with a lovely site, made this a very pleasant stay. We had never had the experience of host and hostess, on site and devoted to our comfort, in a rental before. This is a fisherman's dream destination. This was our best VRBO rental yet.
My husband and I had stayed at Conch Key Villas under previous ownership - we loved the location, with its proximity to some of our favorite snorkeling and boating locations, its sunset views, and the great dock space! However, new owners Stewart & Katie have kicked up 10 notches, with improvements to the facilities that kept its "Keysy" flavor but added: the herb/scent garden, lush landscaping, little nooks for lounging and relaxing around the grounds, and overall - the onsite presence of our hosts. Every detail is thoughtful, comfortable, and welcoming; handy amenities and facilities (such as the dock, fish/boat/gear cleaning station, kayaks, tiki patio, balcony furniture) make activities such as boating, snorkeling, fishing, and relaxing at sunset so "EASY" and convenient. For our anniversary, our hosts left a small bouquet of flowers and a card to welcome us - and, their "no worries" style of managing the property is so appreciated! Within sight of our dock slip, and our balcony, we were treated to magnificent sunsets, manatees, turtles, sea birds, a moray eel, shooting stars - and tropical gulf breezes. The accommodations are comfortable and well appointed, as well as well-maintained. LOVE THIS PLACE! Yes, we're telling all our friends. Yes, we'll be back.
Conch Key Villas is the perfect place to stay if you are going to the Keys for fishing, snorkeling, diving, relaxation and to get away from it all. Katie and Stewart were wonderful hosts, very friendly, accessible, helpful, kind and geniune people. The location can't be beat and the sunsets were spectacular. Their property is setup perfectly with dockage, fish cleaning station, hoses to rinse off fishing and diving gear, a lovely outdoors grill and bar area and other private sitting areas. They also offer guests the use of kayaks and bicycles at no charge. We spent a wonderful week at Conch Key Villas and look forward to returning next year for even longer. It's hard to leave after only one week!
Perfect getaway with panoramic views of the gulf. Watch the sunset from your balcony. Stuart and Katie make you feel at home.
What a nice place! This is a place to have big fun or just relax.... or both. Good times! Stewart and Katie have thought of everything for a clean, comfortable, friendly and easy going place to stay. Beautiful views, great docks, inviting hangouts....... we wanted for nothing! Vinnie & Tami

Conch Key is a quiet little fishing village between Marathon and Islamorada. It is the beginning of the Middle Keys, located at MM 62. The key is only 16 acres and is a great place to walk or bike.
On the island is a convenience store with a deli, limited groceries, boat ramp, fishing tackle, bait, snacks, ice cream and the Famous Key Lime Pie.
There is an amazing amount of wildlife right at the Villas, Manatee's, Sea Turtles, pelicans, egrets, Tarpon, and many other fish and birds. The Dolphin Research Center is just down the road where you can swim with these amazing creatures.
