About Sara McKenna
Our family has loved Leadville for many years now and we hope you will love this great city as much as we do! We are based in Denver but love to make it up to Leadville whenever we can to enjoy all the wonderful things that Leadville has to offer!
Sara McKenna purchased this House in 2004
Why Sara McKenna chose Leadville
When we first walked into the house the sun was streaming through that beautiful south facing bay window onto the hardwood floors. We saw the little sunroom, perfect for curling up with a good book, and knew it was the perfect place for our family to enjoy our favorite mountain town. Great neighborhood and neighbors and perfect for walking downtown - we could not have asked for more in a home.
What makes this House unique
The location is one of the best! Perched up on a hill with panoramic views of Turquoise Lake and the surrounding mountain ranges year round. This is the perfect house for the cook/reader/gardener/hiker/skier/runner....

Great House & the best hosts!
The house is larger than I thought and very clean and welcoming. The owners were the best hosts and we had no trouble with any of the logistics while we were there. Its in the perfect location to walk to town and to access all this area has to offer. I could not have had a better time!
Sunny beautifully decorated home with everything you could need
We spent an extended vacation at the Larkspur house and never wanted to leave! We enjoyed the proximity to Ski Cooper (12 min drive) and walking to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed not having a TV & extra time to browse thei well stocked built-in bookshelves! Our two kids enjoyed the board games, Lincoln logs, and Jenga. The kitchen was very roomy and we’ll stocked. The house was so cozy and warm too!
Sweet house in a great location
This is the second time we have stayed at the Larkspur House, and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. It's comfortable, bright, and cozy. Great for napping! And it's just a couple of blocks from shops, bakeries, and restaurants, not to mention the Mineral Belt trail. We stayed with our two teenagers and the space was perfect for us. We didn't get a chance to use the new fire pit, but it is a nice addition to the backyard. Sara was welcoming and made us feel right at home. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We will be back!
Lovely Home in Leadville
We loved our stay in this clean, spacious house. The neighborhood is very quiet and the house is in walking distance to downtown.
Great house made for a great stay in Leadville.
Even better than the pictures and description - worked out perfectly for our long weekend. Great location, great view.
Thanks for staying! You are welcome back anytime!
Great location! Clean and comfortable property.
We enjoyed our weekend—nice place for family.
Leadville is a small, historic mountain town in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. We are within 1 hour of 7 ski areas. The house is walking distance from the Mineral Belt Trail - an 11+ mile paved loop around town, perfect for cross-country skiing in winter and biking/walking in summer. Other summer activities are too numerous to list! Hiking, fishing, biking, wildflowers, history, racing (participants/supporters/spectators), rafting... Winter is, of course, for skiing - alpine and cross-country- snowshoeing and snowmobiling.
