House with 5 bedrooms, 2 cabins (summer use only and 3 full bathrooms, 2 half
We are Paul and Kathy. Paul is a retired lawyer who works as a commercial mediator and negotiation strategist. Kathy is an executive coach and author, primarily working in healthcare with a focus on leadership development and communications. We purchased the property 25 years ago when it was a charming old farmhouse situated on a large private piece of waterfront which we rented one summer and fell in love with the area. Five years ago we decided to rebuild as our family expanded with new grandchildren. Now we have a wonderful space with room for our adult children, their spouses and children.
Kathy purchased this Cottage in 1993
Why Kathy chose Killiney Beach
We love the climate of the Okanagan with warm dry summers and cold snowy winters. The lake is beautiful to swim in, feeling like velvet on one's skin. We fell in love with the property when we first rented it and felt very blessed when we were able to purchase it the following year. Our children were then teenagers, who each had a bunkie by the lake. They and their friends loved hanging out on the screened in porch or dock. Now they have young children who look forward to their visits.
What makes this Cottage unique
We fell in love with the property which is somewhat secluded and private. The new home is constructed completely of wood and has a warmth and special energy that is difficulty to describe. Some have told us it is the most spectacular home they have ever been in. Although not overly large at 3200 sq ft, it has a voluminous quality that creates a spaciousness, particularly in the summer when we live on the large screened in porch. Facing directly east, we get spectacular sun rises and the sun is off the dock late afternoon, allowing the house to cool down making sleeping comfortable.

VBRO home on Okanagan lake
Beautiful spacious home with large open plan. Plenty of room for all.
Dock was large and swimming was great.
Family reunion group had a great time .
Perfect property for family celebration
We loved this house..it was so easy to be together yet we all had space to relax and chill out..
So great we didn’t leave the house for 4 days.. great dock , amazing views. The cabins on the water were rustic but comfortable . The beds in the main house were all really comfortable and the master suite is to die for.
We had a games table and dining tables . The 2 ovens were so handy for cooking for 13 and the 2 dishwashers helped too.
Bravo to Kathy so a well thought out home..
We will be back I’m sure..
What a home!
Wow, this home is beautiful. The open, shared living space was perfect for our 3 generation family with 6 adults and 5 kids. The screened deck was my favorite room for meals, game playing and book reading with the view of the lake and the sound of the water. Every space in the house was comfortable and stylish. The kitchen was fully stocked with every cooking utensil we could possible need. The only thing lacking was a microwave to reheat all of our leftovers quickly! The design of the upstairs wings was perfect with an adult couple situated in each wing, each wing having it's own bathroom. Though we didn't use the bunk house, it was quite nice and would be very comfortable for another couple. The main floor master suite and sitting area was lovely with a wonderful lake view and private balcony. Our entire family really enjoyed the dock and the L-shape of the dock provide a somewhat enclosed, safe swimming area for our kids. We brought our own kayaks, SUPs, lifejackets and inflatables, which was possible as we all live in BC and drove from home. Travelers who fly to BC to stay at this home may need to pick up some water toys at Walmart or Costco, as the owner's supplies were locked in the boat house. The gardens on the property are wonderful, and we hope it's ok that we used some of the wonderful fresh mint in preparing our cocktails! We saw plenty of wildlife, including loons, Canada geese, eagles, fish and a deer with her fawns. We highly recommend renting this lovely home for a relaxing holiday with friends or family. There is no grocery store nearby (though there is a store on the way to Vernon) so come with everything you need. A trip to Kelowna was about 40 min each way on a winding road. Vernon is a similar distance in the other direction. Our family would love the opportunity to stay here again.
Kathy and Paul were great. They're home was amazing
We had our wedding at Paul and Kathy's house. All of our guests talked about how beautiful the property was. It was an absolute delight staying there.
Property is privates situated on 1.25 acre with sufficient waterfront to offer privacy from neighbors. One can hike from front door, play croquet or badminton on the lawn and relax on the dock, lawn or deck watching the water. Several wineries are situated in area and are open daily for tastings.
